Where is the articulated basket?
I bougth these before Christmas and haven’t tried them yet. But today when putting on the basket I noticed to my dismay that they didn’t have the articulated basket. So disappointed. I had done so much research to find the perfect pole, and somehow I must have missed that this version of Salomon mtn s3 did not have the articulated basket. Too late for return, so sad.

Rad Poles!
Amazing poles that incorporate so much of the nuance that a good touring poles requires! Light swing weight, adjustable for poling on flats, ergonomic hand grips, long section of ribbed eva form that is good thickness for gripping down on uphill side, breakaway straps if you get slid. ONLY suggestion for next version is a truly articulating basket around a ball (see the black crows version) that automatically adjusts to whatever slope angle you're on. THAT would be the perfect pole!

Well designed
Impressed with the MTN Carbon overall but fastener connecting the pole pieces slips.

Amazing poles!
I broke my poles during my last trip and bought these poles at Telluride, just for the look! They turned out to be the best poles I have ever owned. Auto release straps means I don't need to teke the straps off in the trees. Very balanced weight and the rotating basket is actually a genius idea. I am so happy with them! Cons: -I don't like the pink print, so I will probably paint over it. -there is a a very thin/narrow and kinda flimsy part connects the strap to the pole. It's already showing signs of wear and tear after 5 days of skiing. I can't see it last for long so I hope Salomon provides replacement straps in the future once needed.

The bees knees
These poles are the best backcountry that I’ve ever used. Stiff, light and great strap & grip. Adjustable poles are tuff to stay locked. These once locked (with their very innovative locking system) never move which is a relief. If you ever been skiing and confronted an adjustable pole that won’t stay locked you know how frustrating it can be. Great poles with no improvements needed!

Fantastic Poles
Not sure why all these people think these things aren't durable. I've beat mine up for two seasons now and let me tell you, they are tough. Super light, great baskets, and the extended padding on the grip is perfect for side-hilling. 10/10 would recommend (:

Best looking, very light and perfect for touring. My favourite poles I’ve owned yet.
