Why We Like The Salomon Genesis Shoe
If we are looking for skinny alpine trails, sketchy rock scrambles, and breathtaking views, the Salomon Genesis Shoe will help take us there. Featuring a lightweight, breathable, but incredibly durable Matryx synthetic upper, the Genesis can withstand abuse from rocky trails and scree scrambles. The Genesis features Salomon's Active Chassis for versatile support paired with an Energy Foam midsole for the cushion to give us an optimal balance between comfort and performance. For a reliable grip, the Contragrip rubber outsole deploys 4mm lugs in a chevron shape for a stable center, while the 5mm shoulder lugs ensure traction in all scenarios.

Seems great; just wish for a wider forefoot.
Seems great; just wish for a wider forefoot. While my old Salomon XA boots had a very comfortable, wider forefoot, all of these running/hiking shoes seem to run narrow. Great for many; not for those who need more room up front.

Terrible sizing
The last 20 pairs of Salomon were great. These are terrible, way too small and nothing like any others - too narrow, too long.

Light, strong, breathable and supportive
I wanted a shoe for walking or hiking in the city and on light trails. This shoe is a dream. I think this fits true to size for a Salomon shoe meaning dress shoe plus half a size up.

Surprisingly good
Tested these out at a demo night and the cushion and grip were pretty good but the fit didn’t seem exactly right for my foot. Bought them when the arcteryx norvvan LD were out of stock and the fit is good and I’ve been surprised at how much I enjoy the show. Jumped right in to 20-30k runs in then and no blisters and just good times!

Comfortable light weight golf shoe
I have been using as a golf shoe. I walk usually and it has been a great shoe.

agile and fast ride
Very positive exerpience. A quick, highly agile ride. I found these to be poppy and responsive on trail. Durable matryx upper left me with no signs of wear after 200km of use, mid sole is still springy even. Quicklace and tongue stow set up is excellent and works well. I found that the shoe was less comfortable in the forefoot after longer efforts (>30km) but performed well on rocks and rooted terrain. I'm most impressed by the durability of the shoe! Fit me true to size compared to other Salomon shoes. They seem more narrow than thundercross and wider in the toe than speedcross and maybe even senserides. I'm not sure if the active chasis does anything but I have complaints about it being there.

Odd Fit, Grippy, Durable
Bought two sizes and the larger fit my foot better, but these are longer for a given size than many other brands. The padding in the upper packed out after a couple of runs, so my foot now sits farther back in the shoe; I could have gotten away with the smaller size. Grip is OUTSTANDING on wet and dry rock, even smoothed limestone. Off trail running on rock has proven the durability of the shoe as well.

Excellent Trail Shoes - slightly narrow, size up
Absolutely love these. Ran a 30k trail race with them having only put about 8 miles on them before race day. Comfy, light, im a fan of the foam and active chassis for stability. Had to size up a whole shoe was my only issue. Pitfalls of ecom.

Great shoes
Got these shoes from the Ride Sense 2 which I really liked. I like these just as much. They have a little more cushion which is nice when running over sharper rocks.
