Why We Like The Salewa Alp Trainer 2 GTX Hiking Shoe
Built for rugged alpine use, Salewa's Alp Trainer 2 GTX ticks all the boxes for a hardcore hiking shoe. The suede leather provides solid foot protection and abrasion resistance while the rubber rand circles the shoe for added durability and edging in rocks, talus, and scree. The Alp Trainer excels on rocky terrain with the rubber rand, climbing laces, and Vibram Alpine Hiking outsoles each designed for rock scrambling and more technical trails. Even if the snow has melted off our favorite Alp or 14er, the GORE-TEX Extended Comfort membrane provides waterproof and breathable weather protection to keep us hiking comfortably on soggy or slushy trails.
