    Ruff'in It

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought this (the large size) for our doggies to have a comfortable spot for them to chill when we go camping and could not be happier with the purchase. I love how small this pad is when rolled up and the handle makes it so easy to transport. The bottom side is a nice sturdy PVC-free waterproof recycled polyester that doesn’t let any moisture seep up to the soft fleece part. It’s not super thick, but the doggies like laying on it quite a bit (even using it at home now). The large size is bigger than I actually expected and big enough for two doggies of medium/large size (if they are willing to share). Any dirt from the paws brushes off easily and I also already put the pad through the washer. It came out of the washer like new (just don’t put it in the dryer, needs to line dry). When washing I noticed that it helps to ensure the fleece side is pointing towards the outside in the drum (in a front loader) so that during the spinning cycle the water can really run off (otherwise the PVC bottom can keep some extra water in the pad; but not a big deal, just spin it again). Attached a picture of Ridley enjoying his new, comfy doggie bed (for reference, he is 63 lbs) and his brother Cash thinking about sitting down with him.

    awesome travel bed!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

this thing is sweet. I can roll it up and velcro it down so small. So convenient for on the go needs. the top is a durable microfiber style that cleans really well. The bottom is a tough rubber that is great for all surfaces. The bed is about an inch tall and just enough. I bought the medium size so that it would fit in the pups kennel as well and its been awesome!

    Nice Dog Bed

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This dog bed has been great for travel. It is easy to transport, and it fits perfectly in the back of the Xterra. I purchased the M, and it's a nice fit for my dog who is 60 lbs.

    Excellent option

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Just picked this up for the back of a 4Runner and a 1,500 mile road trip with two German Shepherds. The bed is low and very durable/resistant, easily dries and washes off with a relatively quick dry time. This rolls up quick/easy and great for everyday use on hard surfaces (camp sites, decks, floors) and appears to be built for lots of abuse. Quickly attaches to a pack and, while bulky, is light and easy to transport. The L has enough space for both dogs to curl up and/or one to sprawl. The water proof bottom handles moisture well and it is easy to wash/dry - but recommend removing as much hair as possible prior to wash. Great product!

    Fat Dog wants to Sleep

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My fat boarding collie/St. Bernard mix loves sleeping on this in the tent. Just bring a blanket and she will be there all day.

    Awesome for travel!

I wish I had known about this travel pad three years ago when I got my dog! It would have saved us from destroying multiple at-home dog beds when we took them camping and had them crammed in the back of the Jeep along with all of our gear. This pad is by no means as plush as a dog bed, but it is soft and has enough padding to keep my German shepherd warm and off of sharp rocks as well as my sleeping pad. The bottom is waterproof, so it's been great to keep my tent floor dry. It rolls up to about the size of an average (not ultra light) sleeping pad, making it very easy to transport without taking up a lot of space. My dog is a 65 pound GSD and a medium size pad is a good size for her to lay down or curl up in, but not large enough to completely stretch in. She seems to like sleeping on it, so it's a win win :)

    Eddy Mayhem is loungin'

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

She loves this bed! We are permitted to bring our dogs here at Backcountry and this photo is her chilling and relaxing under my desk. The bed is super packable. I take it home for camping and fishing trips. Awesome little bed :)

    Great bed for Doggo

My Husky loves this bed. I always had a hard time getting him to stay off my bed at nights and now he doesn't even try anymore.

Perfect Bed for Being On The Move

This is a very comfortable, portable and high quality pet bed. Doesn't break the bank like most other dog beds but provides all the features a dog could need (a comfy spot to lay down and dream about all the times you called him a good boy that day)
I would definitely recommend this to friends. I got the size medium for my 25 lb blue heeler and it is plenty big with room to spare. Great ruffwear product.

      Great Puppy Bed

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got this bed to welcome home my new Chocolate Lab puppy. When he first laid on it i thought he would never grow into it. Now, four months later, he hangs off the end but loves it. This is the bed that goes in the truck for him to lay on during trips. It rolls up relatively small.

      A good travel bed.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have used this just a bit with our 50 lb mix. It's well constructed and is obvious will last. I thought this bed might have a bit more padding, but will do the job keeping Fred (the half boxer half border collie mix) off the dirt when sleeping.

      It goes everywhere with us!

Hudson is (and I'm not at all afraid to admit it) an extremely spoiled boy, but not at all easy to shop for. At only 16 months old he's still got some growing to do- and he's already 34" tall and 155lbs! I searched and searched for a bed that would not only fit him size wise, but it had to be comfortable and easily transported. Being as we hike weight was also an issue especially once he's geared up to carry it. Eventually I decided that even if it didn't work for hiking/camping he could use it out on the deck, at the farm or when he goes to work with me. I am happy to say this bed exceeds my expectations and goes absolutely everywhere with us!

The bottom material has just enough grip that it doesn't slip and slide on the concrete floors at work and if he's been out lounging at the farm everything just brushes off. It also works really well keeping him dry. Wet grass or damp ground and he stays comfy. The fleece top is actually more like a microfiber than fleece. It doesn't hold the hair or dirt like fleece does and I typically just brush it with a stiff bristled brush if shaking it out doesn't do the trick. If it gets really dirty just throw it in the wash and hang it to dry. The bottom will stick to itself if it gets too hot, so I wouldn't advise leaving it rolled up in the car for extended periods of time.

Our first "trip" was out in the yard, teaching him "tent manners" and this bed is the perfect size to fit next to my own sleep set up. He knew right away he had a dedicated spot and it's just the right amount of cushion for him. On our next few trips I carried his bed - he's not quite ready to carry all his stuff yet- and because it rolls up so tight and compact it fits under the hood of my bag easily. I didn't really notice the little bit of extra weight. Eventually I'll bungee it to him through the convenient carry handle and it will be very secure. Warmth wise it's perfect for him from late spring to early fall (for us that was mid/late May til late August/early September). Eventually this bed will be his "base layer" and he'll have some custom sleeping gear to so he can camp with me when it's colder (I did say he was spoiled).

I would absolutely recommend it to anyone with a large/giant dog that's looking for something easy to pack up and take on a trip, be it out on the trail, to the beach, or just to lounge out by the pool. It's very versatile and Hudson and I couldn't be happier with it.

      It goes everywhere with us!

      The "Roll-away Bed" for Dogs!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Our 10 month old Golden loves this Pad. He's nearing 90lbs so he's a big pup and the size Large Pad fits him well. It's great for car camping - a place for him to lay down by the fire and in the tent as well. Rolls right up so it's easy to move place to place. He has also used it when he hangs out with me in the office so it's a versatile bed! Machine washable too! Major bonus right there.

      Perfect for the beast

We have a 4 year old newfoundland, and although she might not realize it, she's spoiled. She had an older Bachelor bed that she ended up chewing to a few pieces (thanks Camber), so we finally got another one to replace it. Super similar to the OG bed, but not as fleecy on the top which I like- the smaller fibers don't hold dirt as easily. Easy to pack, perfect for backpacking or car camping outside the tent. It's not super thick, but offers some warmth and protection from the rough ground. As Camber is basically a black bear, she doesn't really need the warmth (she actually refuses to sleep on it if it's even remotely warm) but she knows it's her spot. All in all, hands down would recommend this for the traveling dog, or even as use as a spare bed around the house!

        Good for casual travel

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

We have the highlands bed for backpacking but it's a little small for realllly stretching out on so we picked up the Mt. Bachelor Pad on sale figuring it would be great for staying with friends, traveling in hotels, when the dogs come to the office, etc.

I had seen it in stores prior to getting it so I knew not to expect anything too thick (An inch is pushing it and I definitely wouldn't be comfortable sleeping on it like I would be on some of the orthopedic pet beds) but it certainly beats nothing and does provide both comfort and warmth.

The real advantage is the waterproof bottom which is great if you have a dog that likes getting wet and you need to protect a floor or your car or for putting it down in dirtier areas as the bottom wipes clean.

It looks nice, rolls up easily and the carry handle works well to hook a carabiner to allowing you to attach it to pretty much anything.

The highlands bed seems to have a little more loft and packs smaller overall but also is smaller in size... I think if I only had 1 I'd pick the highlands but the bachelor pad is a nice addition and the dogs seem to like it.

The dogs say with a bed like this why can't we come to the office every day with you?

        Good for casual travel

My friend's dog will love it

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

This is my friend's dog gif, so do't tell her. I had a very nice feedback from Backcountry people, so will give it a try. Costa Rica weather is too wet, so I hope it helps to warm her (Nani). Will add and image after April 1st (her birthday) to see if she likes it :)
