Jet Stream Vest

Built specifically for fast and light adventures, the Rufffwear Jet Stream Vest is designed to keep Fido cool and comfortable on short and hot trail runs or hikes alike. This vest essentially cools and shades your dog via the shade-offering spandex atop the vest, while the three-layer, evaporative cooling panel pushes heat away from Fido's core, in turn cooling them. To employ the Jet Stream properly, simply soak the vest in cold water, wring out, put on Fido, and zip it up.

Works well, smaller sizes weird design

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

We have a large for our boxer and a small for the beagle. They do a good job cooling in the city on hot days and in the woods while running. The small-sized vest is a bit unusual as it has huge front leg openings. Almost as of there is only belly cooling, no chest cooling. Still a great vest. Had the Ruffwear Swamp Cooler before and didn't let it dry all the way so it got moldy. This one is hung up to dry after every use. The little one, loves it, the big guy isn't a fan of the wet vest but both run a lot better with it on.

Summer Time Pup Necessity!!!!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I was skeptical of how well this vest would work. I'm amazed at how much it helps my black dog stay cool. The vest doesn't dry out very fast and when I put my hand under it while it was on my pup it was cool underneath. It is awesome. A necessity for summer time active dogos!! The material is light weight and stretchy. Seems to fit most dogs well. My dog is a lab/ cow dog mix and weights about 60lb. I ended up getting him a large. The medium was just a little to tight on him.

Cooling Vest

This vest keeps my dog, who typically overheats, cool while running around outside. I used this all summer when he was running on trails or in parks. He was able to last longer while wearing this vest. The vest fit great and survived a year of being worn by my crazy pup.

Happy Dog

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have to say, I was pretty skeptical on how well these cooling vests would work and they proved me wrong! I purchased one for my husky mix that gets very warm while mountain biking. I was first impressed by the fit and how lightweight and thin the material is. The spandex fabric allows for great fit on different types of dogs. On our first ride with the vest I only had lukewarm water to soak the vest in before our ride and to my amazement the vest was cool within minutes of getting it wet! It stayed pretty damp the whole ride and I just sprayed him a couple times with my camelbak water. When I took it off of him at the end of the ride, it was still noticeably cool! Very excited about this find, I will be purchasing another for my other pup.

Black Dog

I have a black pup that always gets over heated in the summer. Since we started using this for bike rides and runs he doesn't get as tried since hes not overheating.

Keeps My Dog Cool.

My husky mix loves to romp, especially in the summer sun. But he's got a pitch black coat, which just attracts heat like crazy. And pair that with his heavy undercoat, and he's hotter than a cast iron skillet on a roaring campfire. So, to help prevent him from overheating, I picked up this vest. To test, I took him on a 2.5-mile run in 90-something degree heat. Followed the directions with the vest, and with periodic pee-mail stops, as well as a water break, the vest seemed to help a-loooooooot. Like kept him cool and prevented him from overheating. It does look a little funny, like he's wearing a cycling jersey (and initially he didn't move when I put it on him), but the blue looks quite nice on his black fur. For fit reference, he wears a Medium in Ruffwear collars and a Medium in the Webmaster,. He's about 50 pounds at most.

How heavy is this when it’s wet? I have a pug/chihuahua mix who only has 1 hind leg. He’s 9 years old and I’m concerned too much extra weight will cause him discomfort.
