The Rossignol Smasher ski package puts an all-mountain ski with real intermediate-to-advanced range against a Nordica Cruise boot that solves a different problem, comfort and easy entry for feet still getting used to ski boots. Rocker in the tip and tail keeps the Smasher forgiving through chop and soft snow, and camber underfoot holds an edge once the snow firms up, so the ski has headroom to grow into rather than a ceiling to bump against. The Cruise boot's wide 104mm last and dual soft-flap instep open the boot's throat wide, so getting in and out of it never turns into a fight, and a progressing skier can put energy into skiing instead of fighting gear.
