    Get a grip.

Your old tennis shoes are going to be slicker than snot if you try to wade in them, and the last thing you want to do is take a slider right as you finally hook into that 20-inch brown you spotted feeding behind a log. The Redington Men's Skagit River Wading Boot has got you covered with its sticky rubber sole that will cling to slick river bottoms. The Skagit is made with a quick-draining upper with mesh side panels that will let water pass through the boot, so you don't end up lugging a bunch of water around all day. Redington reinforced the Skagit with a rubber rand and heel, so you don't rip them out when you scrape them along a submerged log or boulder. And if you need a little more bite from these boots, you can attach metal studs to their stud-compatible soles for even more grip.

Runs HUGE! 2 Sizes down! Awesome boot.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have been hiking around and wading in these for the past couple weeks. They have had great support, good traction, and good durability (so far).

I have to complain about the sizing. I am a 10.5 US street shoe and initially bought a 10 based on other reviews. It was HUGE. Backcountry was great and got me a size 8 replacement, which fit perfect. A SIZE 8! 2.5 sizes down from street shoe size with waders and very thick socks on. I have no clue what Redington is doing with this model, because the women's model fit my wife perfect at her normal street size.

These shoes are great for the price! They're comfortable with a good amount of support on the heels. The sole is nice and comfortable on long days by the river. These do run REAL big, even with boot waders on. I ended up going 2 sizes smaller to get the best fit. Would recommend for the price!

    Run large

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been using these boots for about a year now. For the most part I like them. Good grip, ankle stability and support and drain very well. They feel very solid when you are navigating under water boulders and holes. The downside is that are sized about one size too large so they feel little clunky scrambling up river banks and walking around all day. I compared my Skagits to my friend's Simms G3 Guide boots of the same size side by side. My Skagits are about an inch longer in length and fit much more loose. The weight was roughly the same. I tested fit in my winter set up with very thick merino mountaineering socks. If I had to do it all over again, I'd splurge and get the Simms G3's.

    Good Starter Boot

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Got this boot for my Father in Law as he makes his way back into the fly fishing world. Great boot for a great price. Do not size up!

Redington skagit boots - order shoe size

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought these boots to go with my Redington waders for fly fishing. I wear a size 9 1/2-10 dress and casual shoes so I decided to order a size 10 boot. They fit great. A little room at the tip so my toes are not touching the end and the toe area is roomy enough to wiggle your toes- not cramped. I previously ordered a pair of korker boots but the size 10 was a tad too tight and they don't come in half sizes so an 11 would have been too big. I also ordered a pair of Simms booties to go with these boots when it's warm out and I don't need waders and will just wear my boots with my shorts. Glad with purchase!

Great boots but don't go up a size.

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I received these boots and they look like they are going to be great boots as far as fit and finish. I wear an 11 or 11.5 street shoe so I ordered a 12 in this boot to make sure I had plenty of wiggle room. When they arrived I tried them on with my street shoe socks and pushed my toes all the way up and had about two inches between my heel and the back of the boot. I put my stocking foot waders on and it was still just too big. Might have been correct with two pairs of really heavy wool socks. So my point is don't go up a size at all I might even say if you are a half size don't go up, go back unless you're planning on wearing some major sock thickness under your waders. On a super plus side the customer service from is still awesome as usual, no muss no fuss returns. I recommend this boot and, just don't up size this boot learn from my experience and the other reviewers of the boot.

I love this boot a lot!! Super sticky!! I wear a US 12 shoes size but the size chart told me to get a 13...... Wish I would have gone with a 12, because the boot is big on me. Not sure if backcountry has the right size chart for this or the boot just runs bigger. 5 Stars for quality. 1 Star for the size chart!!!

these shoes are getting better and better!! Super comfy for all day use!!!

I normally wear a size 12 sneaker. Should I order 12’s? I rented a pair of Simms boots recently and wore a 13.
