Poor quality.

I bought these Chelsea a month ago and stitching on the elastic already popped (basically medial high Achilles). I have been wearing Red Wing shoes for the past 7 years, these being my 10th pair, and none of them have failed like this, not even on my 2016 Iron Rangers. These boots were barely into the break in stage; I had only wore them around the house and short trips like for groceries to ease into them. I really wanted to like these boots as they're handsome and started to get comfortable. I'm incredibly dissapointed.

Better more like a Pecos

I'd buy something like this if it weren't elastic, all leather like a Pecos with the oro sole

Soles didn't last

Had less than a year. The soles and tread didn't last. I've had Red Wing before and didn't expect this quality at that price.

Favorite boot, not durable

Bought them a year ago just to wear out, the bottom sole started to separate. From reading other reviews I guess I will just glue them. Definitely not happy with the quality for how much they cost me

The perfect boot. Very well made and comfortable

These boots are the best I ever had. They are easy to put on, comfortable to wear and work well even in rainy or snowy conditions. The more you wear them the better they look. I have a wide foot and they fit me perfectly. This is my third winter with these boots and they look great, with no signs of wear on the soles or the elastic panels. By the way, the loops make it super easy to slip these boots on.

Love them

Have the brown and love them. Like the other guy said, “need the black”.

Gorgeous and convenient

I wear boots everyday. Whether for work or leisure. Having a quick boot to throw on is key. They are beautiful and comfortable. I have two pairs of them.

Buy them, best boots out there

Break in was not as bad as expected. I wear a 10 Wide EE, so mostly buy 10.5s so shoes fit. I got a 10 in these boots and they are perfect. Plenty of toe room. They were VERY tight on the top of my foot, so I put on thick socks and wore them all day for three days spraying water in the top of the boot periodically. They broke in perfectly and are awesome now. Great quality and I can tell they will last forever.

Excellent Chelsea for Low Volume / Instep Feet

I LOVE the looks, leather quality and design of this chelsea but have a high instep and these are painfully tight across the bridge. If you have a love volume narrow foot with a slim instep, you will love these and find comfort out of the box. I wasn't able to return mine so I resigned myself to trying to make them work. Here's what I have done so far: 1. I first took them to a cobbler who put them on stretchers for a week. 2. Replaced the insole with a slimmer low-profile Red Wing leather one (they make an even slimmer one in Poron. It's Style 96317). This at least allowed me to get my foot into the torture chamber. 3. I did apply some Red Wing natural condition to help soften things up - not sure if it helps or not but it's not going to hurt. 4. If I wear thin socks, I have been able to wear them for several hours a day without being in too much pain. My foot is on the wide size of average and I have no issues at all with them width wise so this is all purely an instep issue for me. I'm hoping with a little perseverance and some time on the pain train that I can break these in as the leather gives way to tenacity and dogged determination. I love all of my other Red Wing Heritage boots and these are the first I've had with such a shallow instep - I even have a pair of their cowboy boots from about 15 years ago that have been incredible and still going strong after several resoles.
