Comfortable out of the box.
Just got mine in size 8. Generally we’re 7.5 or 8. Easy break in so far. I can tell it’s a quality, well made boot. Easily will outwear several bargain boots by the looks of it. Too bad I always felt it was too much. It’s probably less expensive in the long run. I highly recommend it!

Great Boots!
Really good hardworking boots. Got these to wear in rotation with my moc-toes, love the Hawthorne Rough-out leather. Wears in really well and break in period is next to none. Will need to get some insoles now though, seams the leather has broken in but I need a bit of lift to snug up the fit. My only dislike about the boot would be the sole. I do like the Vibram 430 Mini lug but it seems that the soles are just a bit to short for the size of the boot in terms of length. There is a noticeable click when I move from midfoot to toe. I am going to resole them anyways with another Vibram sole but thought I'd put that out there.

Speed hooks will ruin this boot
I bought these in October of 23. I have about 8 months of light use in them. I really like these boots but the speed hook eyelets are tearing up the tongue and laces. I have to get new speed hooks before wearing them any further. Pros: Easy break in Comfortable Good leather Sturdy boot Cons: Eyelets are sharp and will dig in and cut the leather. Redwing, I love your boots and will keep buying, please fix this issue on future boots.

I am still in the break-in process but I am enjoying the boots tremendously. They were very stiff but are beginning mold to my feet. The Redwing shoe size photo tool is helpful and I think I got the best size for me. Several people have complemented to boots which I conditioned and lightly shined. I wear them to work, church, and for casual events. Excellent product, hopefully I won't ever have to break them in again.

Horrible quality control
Second pair I've had to send back. Jodi1117 inspector is who approved these lol last time it took 14 pairs befthey got me a pair worth even keeping and even those the sole is all wavy. I ordered 1 more pair if they are no good I'm done with this company after over 25 years and I will go with Nicks. Sad to see american companies get like this.

It is the break-in tho...
Just keep in mind these boots weigh over 5lbs and are just broken in after 3 months. Outside that they are tanks, look great, and are the real deal quality wise.

Iron Ranger Copper
I have been a diehard Thorogood boot guy for years and wanted a more formal looking boot and got the copper rough and tough. This boot looks good hiking on a trail or in an office setting. Beautiful leather and after breaking them in I love these boots. Breaking the boots in was not miserable and I wore them in rotation with my other boots to prevent blisters etc. After a month they really get comfortable and I would buy another if they offered more colors in a 6.5. I sized down a full size.

Built to last… the best boot hands down!
My first pair of Iron Rangers lasted 14 years!! Just bought the 8085, what a great looking boot. As for the breaking in period, no issues. Been wearing them all day and have had no problems. I sized down 1 full size, and they fit perfect… thanks again Red Wing!

Beautiful boots
The Hawthorne roughout is great. I love that leather smell. Construction has been sturdy. Nothing came defective, and everything still looks good. These are my shitkicker boots, so I haven't babied them at all and they look great. That roughout really holds up. Thinking about buying the Slate roughout just to have them in another color
