Used for ski touring in temperatures ranging from -2 to +2 degrees C, with a mixture of sun, cloud and light snow. The jacket over a thin base layer was enough to keep me warm without overheating when skinning for 4-5 hours a day. A versatile bit of kit and a good buy.

One of my favourite bits of kit
Such a great bit of kit. Breathable, warm, flexible, have used it in horrible weather and it did the job of keeping my relatively dry and warm.

Very good at what if
Very good at what if does - keeping you comfortable while working in damp, cold and windy conditions. It's quite a loose fit though and it doesn't look very smart if that's what matters to you. The zip on the chest pocket can catch.

10 years of use and still going strong
My got to jacket for most outdoor activity. I've climbed mountains in mid winter with a merino wool long sleeved base and a vapor rise jacket. Kept me dry on assent and warm at the summit and on decent. Fantastic jacket muck better option than a bulky fleece and a wind shell IMO.

Big up to the VR Summit
Amazing jacket. My body temp runs very warm when exercising so finding the right balance of warmth, breathability, wind resistance, bulk, etc. has always proved challenging. That’s until I was introduced to the VR Summit. I was dubious at first - how could such a lightweight piece of kit deliver on all these things? Just a base layer and this in freezing winter temps? Really? Happy to report I’ve been blown away with the performance of this jacket. Got mine Feb22 and 1st tried it out on an icy hike around the Langdale Pikes with 50mph+ gusty winds wearing just a mid-weight base layer beneath. The jacket performed brilliantly. Never too hot, never cold, no draughts, hood onboard to supplement hat. Fantastic. Packs down well so on those spring days where it’s balmy in the valleys but still freezing atop say Helvellyn or Skiddaw, with a 30mph wind to boot, whip out the VR Summit as you ascend and all is well. I live on the Fylde coast and have found it brilliant for beach walks too - wind resistance for such a light jacket is unreal. Same story traipsing around the Bowland fells, the VR allows you to travel so light. Highly recommended piece of kit.
