Down with durability.
You’ve envied those fuzzy mountain goats for a long time because they look so warm, but now they’re jealous of your Rab Women's Positron Down Jacket. Thanks to its Nikwax hyrophobic goose down insulation, stitch-through sides and arms, and boxwall torso and hood, your body heat stays where it needs to so you get to explore frozen cliffs with your wooly friends. With the DWR-coated Pertex Endurance fabric and flexible nylon lining, you can perhaps wrestle alpha male rams and ski down the slope against wet conditions. The Positron also features security and hand zip pockets and a helmet-compatible hood.

I love this jacket. Its super warm, comfortable, and durable while still being form fitting, for a puffy down jacket. I've worn it in ~0 degree weather and it kept me toasty. The only cons are the zipper is a little bit difficult to zip up and the hood barely fits over my ski helmet. It should be big enough to fit over a climbing helmet though. I got the Graphene/Peony and the colors are just as pictured. 10/10 would buy it again.

My wife LOVES this jacket! She was previously always cold, often layering two down jackets when skiing. With this jacket, she even eats lunch outside! I got her the juniper and it's beautiful. Fit is perfect and quite flattering considering the warmth. Hood fits over her ski helmet and is awesome for cold lift rides.
Hi, I'm looking at the Rab Positron Womens Jacket and I understand that these jackets are cut to be roomy for layering. According to the size guide I would be a small, but if I wanted it to fit a bit closer to the body, would an XS still fit someone with a 38 hip, 28 waist and 32 bust?
Hi Paloma, I don't know if anyone has helped you with your question yet. I don't know exactly how to figure it out, but I have attempted some measurements from my coats. The coats I'm measuring are the Rab Neutrino and I believe they are the same sort of idea - roomier for layering so for a more fitted feel you would go smaller on the Neutrino. I measured from zipper to zipper at the hip on the S (38" approx - maybe 37") and XS (approx 36"). With the data you've given above, the small will fit your hip, the XS may not. It probably will be roomier in the chest for you if you get the small vs the XS, but I don't think it would look bad. I've had some similar issues, needing to test things, and I think that maybe you could try both sizes and see what you like best and return the one you don't like. It appears that this jacket does have a drop tail hem so it's not a waist coat and you may find that the XS does work for you for a more fitted fit. I hope this helps!
