The Group Shelter gets its shape from the people inside it, braced by trekking poles fed through recesses in the roof, so there's no pole system to pack, break, or fumble with when the weather actually turns. That trade-off is what keeps an 8-10 person shelter down to 31 ounces, light enough to carry as standing insurance rather than dead weight. A windproof, waterproof polyester shell and reflective piping mean it works whether the stop is a genuine emergency or just lunch in a stiff wind.
