    Four-season versatility.

The Rab Men's Electron Down Jacket fends off cold, wet weather so you continue climbing, all year long. The Electron excels on winter ice climbs, summer alpine endeavors, and shoulder season multipitches. Light and lofty 800-fill down insulation equips the Electron with midweight warmth, and Nikwax's hydrophobic water-resistant treatment helps the down retain its lofty warmth in moisture. Rab wrapped up this protective insulation with Pertex's highly water-resistant, breathable, and wind-repellent Endurance fabric. The hood cinches down over beanies or helmets with ease, and Rab added a wired peak to stay out of eyesight while you belay. Rab also included a stuff sack for compact storage in your backpack.

    Perfect Winter Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 160lbs

Looked at the RAB Microlight but it wasn't warm enough for cold winter weather. Then came the RAB Electron--pefect jacket, just what I was looking for. It's very, very warm--typically I just wear a t shirt underneath. Also, it's VERY lightweight and the down is hydrophobic so still retains warmth when wet. Looked at North Face and Arcteryx and found the Electon to be the best out of the bunch. I would highly recommend.

    Winter Go-To

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I got this for my husband to replace his old puffy, and he loves it. It is super warm, comfortable, and functional. The zippers are big and work well on his- he'd prefer to have a two-way main zipper, like on my Positron, but not the end of the world. The pockets are nice and big. It packs down well, though it would be really nice if it could stuff into its own pocket rather than having to keep track of a separate stuff sack...
Sizing is true, he takes a M-L top and the L in this is a great fit that still allows a little extra room for a ticker layer.

    Good jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 165lbs

Good jacket as a backcountry puff.
    Packs small for the warmth.
Outside pockets are functional - they open pretty wide so you can store lots
    Zipper is fine on mine.
Elastic cuffs on wrists are great and seal in heat.
Zikwax treatment on down is great insurance.

If I were to suggest improvements:
    1) add interior mesh "shove- it" pockets for gloves etc.
    2) ditch the included stuff sack and make the jacket stuff into one of the pockets

Warm: If you can get zippers to work!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 135lbs

This is a warm jacket. The front zipper? Well, my daughter's Barbies' have better zippers. The zippers are cheap and cranky. The front zipper is difficult to work when your hands are warm. When they're cold? Good luck. I like the fit and unlike some of my Rab down clothes, the down in this jacket is significantly better and therefore warmer. Not all down is created equal (or zippers)!

    很好

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: s
    • Height: 5'7"

    重庆的天气比较阴冷潮湿,估计和英国类似,所以选择了RAB。很暖和,比较轻,小号的对我来说刚刚好。很喜欢!

    Great jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: large
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 170lbs

Very nice, very warm, I'm 5'10' 170 lbs and the large fits me just fine, has a left hand zipper though, need to get use to that but other wise a very nice coat

Great technical puffy with a few quirks

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 175lbs

This coat is very warm. It is not Michelin Man bulky, but it is definitely warmer than the popular micro-puffys like the Ghost Whisperer. Great weight to warmth ratio. Shell material feels very durable but is a bit noisy. Fit is on the slim side, it would be hard to layer much under it unless you size up. Sleeves taper quite a bit, but the cut still gives good range of motion. I have longer than average arms, 6 ft. 175 pounds and the medium fits me well. Love the elastic cuffs and the big pocket zips. The hood is kinda weird, it is oversized to be helmet compatible but this ends up being annoying for general use. The elastic band around the hood is sewn through the neck of the jacket, kind of a weird design, we will see how that wears. Overall a well thought out insulation piece with features biased toward technical ascents and the like more so than bumming around town.
