    Cutting-edge protection with minimalist design.

Deceivingly simple, yet stuffed with the latest impact protection, the Pret Cynic X Helmet places MIPS technology into a cleanly styled, minimalist design. Standing for Multi-Direction Impact Protection System, MIPS uses an elastomeric liner that dissipates rotational forces resulting from angled crashes on the mountain. MIPS achieves this lofty feat by allowing the helmet to rotate independently around your noggin, subsequently reducing the rotational forces translated through the helmet.

The Cynic X's lightweight and low-profile design is courtesy of In-Mold construction, which fuses a rugged polycarbonate shell directly to the impact-absorbing foam inside. Besides being a relatively lightweight helmet, the Cynic X features a cozy liner of wool-blended fabric, which boasts high levels of warmth, as well as quick-drying and anti-odor properties. It's finished with an RCS fit system that fine-tunes the helmet's fit with the spin of its dial, audio-compatible earpads, and VTT1 ventilation ports for thermo-regulation.

    Perfect Helmet

This helmet not only looks good but is comfortable 3 days in a row snowboarding the mountains. It is very durable and has taken many head pounding crashes and still looks brand new. The ear flaps have pockets in them for the Bluetooth speaker discs, works perfect and much better than uncomfortable ear buds. Buy it you wont be disappointed.

      Love these helmets!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I ordered 2 of these, one for me, and one for my husband. I know they make a female version of this helmet (Lyric X) but I wanted a completely black helmet, which they do not make for women. Sizing is the same for men and women - so I went with a medium as did my husband (head circumference is 22in for both of us). Goggles fit well - I have Smith Virtue and my husband has Smith Squad. It is lightweight, fits great, is warm (I've used in temperatures of 5F with a windchill of -15F) , and the ear muffs do not muffle sound at all. I literally forget I am wearing this helmet. It is well worth the money!

      Not Good For Oblong Heads

This was a great helmet with outstanding fit, finish, and features. Unfortunately the shape wasn't right for the shape of my head - I have more of an oblong shaped head and these seemed to be geared towards those with a round shaped heads - leading to pressure points at the front and back. I was bummed as the helmet was exactly what I wanted. If you have more of a round shaped head I would definitely recommend it.

It would be awesome if they offered helmets with different internal shapes instead of a one shape fits all kind of setup (that is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5).

        Solid Lid

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Pret makes bomber helmets, and even better, they're based out of Park City. It's always great supporting a local company that makes high quality gear. The helmet itself is awesome. The MIPs provides that added protection and the retention system couldn't be any better.

This is one of the only helmets I have owned where my goggles fit seamlessly with the brim. I've used both my Oakley Line Miner's and Canopy's with zero issues thus far. The helmet is also relatively lightweight, and they make it super easy to remove the ear muffs on those warmer spring days. Overall a great helmet at a great price.

        Light and solid

The pret Cycnic X with Mips is a solid addition to any shredders safety gear. Lightweight and built to last. The Cynic X features an awesome dial adjustable headband to make sure it fits your noggin. the Mips system instills a greater confidence in the event of an accident. The wool ear protection is great for keeping your ears warm. The included Velcro openings for the Outdoor Tech Headphone Chips fits perfectly.

        I highly recommend.

I wish it would fit me

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

My head circumference is 58.43 cm so I order the medium, it made me feel pressure points on each side of the head above my ears but the forehead and back of head felt perfect, I tried to see if I could get used to it but after having it on my head for 10 min it start hurting so I had to return it. Other than that issue the helmet is pretty cool and good quality

        Great gear

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Love this helmet, fits nicely with Oakley Airbrakes - had Giro before and found big and distracting - you forget you have the Pret ON. Super comfortable.

Fits my round pumpkinhead very well - if you have a more ovoid noggin, maybe try the Shaman.

        This is the one!!!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I wanted a low profile helmet with MIPS( It works, tested MIPS on a DH helmet) technology. I finally settle for this after owning giro and ride helmets previously. Both of those helmets were size large and i just felt they were a little to big, and the Med was to small. My circumference head is just under 23 Inches, i gamble and order the Medium orange. It is a precise fit which i did not mind and very low profile, with the BOA like mechanism it only take a small turn to have the helmet securely around my head.

Performance wise this thing is light, looks great, and is super comfortable. I was a little concern with the vents not closing, but that was put to rest after using this helmet in Vermont for 3 days in temps btw -14 and 12. I used it with a Dakine balaclava and Oakley crowbar goggles, excellent fit (no gap btw helmet and goggles). Great job Pret, and Kyle Livingston on backcountry sales for his incredible service!

        Amazing but sadly

It fits great... looks great... electric eg2 goggles fit seamlessly.... has the latest tech like mips and magnet clips.... I just wish the chinstrap angle was adjustable like the giro....

          Low Profile and sleek!

So I got this to replace an older Giro Combyn helment. I have a big head and usually wear a Large in Giro helmets. I have a size Large in this and comparing the two, MIPS really makes things super light. In addition to weight, it looks sleek and awesome! Very comfortable. Right away while wearing it, I noticed the wieght. I have a Dragon NFX goggle and a Oakley Canopy goggle and the fit is seamless! No gaper issues at all, compared to my Giro, I had a little bit and the fits weren't always the best. So far, I am stoked! So for sizing, I hear a hat size of 7-5/8 or a 60cm helmet size and wear a Large in this helmet. The goggle strap is way awesome too!
