    Innovative headlamp with smartphone connectivity.

As if Petzl's brightness-adjusting Reactive Lighting weren't innovative enough, the Reactik Plus Headlamp includes Bluetooth technology so you can personalize the headlamp via MyPetzl Light's app on your smartphone. Reactive Lighting automatically adjusts its brightness based off distance in order to provide a longer burn time, visual comfort, and minimal handling. Look from the trail to your skis or climbing harness, and you'll instantly notice the headlamp adjust its brightness from a powerful beam to a close-range light.

MyPetzl Light's application adapts the headlamp's performance to specific activities like trail running, mountaineering, trekking, or backpacking. You can also change the brightness, check the battery, and more with your smartphone. The Reactik Plus also features a rechargeable battery that can last for more than half a day, and to make sure you get the most out of the battery, Petzl included a lock function that prevents the headlamp from turning on when it's in your backpack. Petzl also added a partially-padded, adjustable, and washable headband, as if this headlamp weren't already completely convenient enough.

    Great Headlamp With Customization!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This headlamp performs excellently! The reactive technology is very useful and allows you to keep your hands free to focus on the task at hand. The App is a bit of an issue for some but the headlamp on its own is very well built.

    Best Headlamp.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got this headlamp in Sept 2018 and have been using it on my morning trail runs. It is the best headlamp I have ever owned. I love the rechargeable battery, so now I don’t need to stock up on AAA batteries!! The head strap is comfortable. The main button and blue tooth take some time to get used to, but once you do it is really easy to flip through the settings even with running gloves.

    I have Three

I have three of these and have given a few as gifts. The buttons take some getting used to, figuring out what they do. Usually can get through a weekend camping trip without a recharge.
The usb recharging option is great when you forgot that it's dead and you can re up the juice on the drive.

      I can see clearly now!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I needed to pick up a new headlamp and this was on the list for some time now. Waiting for some time was worth it because this lamp is sweet! I can see ridiculously far and the battery lasts practically forever. I do enjoy that it is weather resistant because sometimes being clumsy pays the price. A super cool feature is being able to buy a replacement battery if you are out and about for a few days, always nice to know you'll have a light,

      Thank you!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got this after I banged up my knee in a fall from running at night with no light. After that I decided to buy a light and I did. I love this light and am excited for running, climbing with this for the days to come!

      Thank you!

      Headlamps need trackers

I’ve had a ton of different headlamps and somehow manage to lose a lot of them. This one is by far my favorite though. It’s extremely bright and holds a charge incredibly well. All it needs is a tracker so I don’t have to buy another one.

        I see the light

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This thing is rad. It came highly recommended, from a friend, and I thought it sounded unnecessarily technical. It's surprisingly user friendly, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Now, let's see it it holds up! ;)

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I had a couple headlamps prior that more or less got the job done. Then I put this flaming ball of light on my head, and, WHOA. It's super bright but the light sensing function allows you have just the right amount of lumens 'lummentaing....which will result in longer burn time! I recommend looking over the user manual to familiarize yourself with the many functions, but it's easy to get going out of the box. I love rechargeable batteries and the lock function...nothing is worse than a head torch accidentally turning on in your pack that's burnt out by the time it's dark!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I purchased this to her more miles in before the kids go to school. I use the light sensing function. Puts out the perfect amount on light. Is very light weight. So far I've only wore it with hats, and it stays in place. I think I'll always have to have my hair fixed tightly to keep it that way. I highly recommend!!!

        The Best!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I recently purchased this headlamp and have used it only a few times but my initial impressions are very positive. This headlamp is super bright and charges fast. So many customizable settings so I have a lot to learn!

        The best headlamp

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Awesome headlamp, with tons of features/customization. I love the adaptive lighting, and that there are multiple settings. There's even a feature where you can send an SOS signal! (You gotta set up the app, though.) The number of customizations can be overwhelming, especially since there are only two buttons on the thing, so looking over the (short) manual might be useful!

        Let There Be Light!!

Dusk Settles and the darkness begins to engulf the earth. The only thing that could prevent such eternal blackness is the beam of a Petzl Reactik headlamp. I had struggled climbing peaks, finding gear and cooking food when I was too naive to know the difference in headlamps. It was a cool autumn evening and our plan was to summit a nearby peak so that we could sleep on the saddle and rise for the sunset. It was during this night hike up the southern face. We climbed starting at dusk and reached the top about an hour and a half later. The Petzl was an excellent addition to the hike, the auto dimmer was an excellent way to save battery and light the trail. We bow drilled a fire at the saddle that night and made some hot coco. Sleeping under the stars is one of my favorite things. THe Petzl again was able to help light up the campsite and also allowed my to read that evening before falling asleep. That morning we awoke to a brisk breeze and again the Petzl helped me pack up before sunrise and make it to the summit before the sun crested the horizon. THe sun drove the darkness away as well as my Petzl until the next night. This headlamp is amazing and I will most likely never go back to any other brand. THe Reaktic has a comfortable headband with an easy to use adjustable strap. THe battery pack is rechargeable and doesn’t require batteries which is nice. It has a multitude of features and settings to save battery power.

          Love This Headlamp

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I absolutely love this head lamp! It is really bright and you can see well. It charges fast and is easy to use. It has a lot of different settings for the times you don't need as bright of a light. I wouldn't buy a different head lamp. I have used it several times and haven't had any problems with it yet.

          Love at first try

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I just got this headlamp and it was love at first sight. I love the dim feature on it when you look down at your watch or it senses an oncoming headlamp. It's kinda big which makes you think it wouldn't work that great for running but the dual strap in the back really holds it in place. And it's so awesome that it's rechargeable!!

          Great for running!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had this headlamp for almost a year now and have used it a ton, primarily for early morning or late night trail runs. Every headlamp I've had before this one would fall on my face about 5 minutes into a run and I'd end up carrying it in my hand. The band on this works great for running and I never have to adjust it mid-run. Also, the auto-adjust mode is fantastic for changing your gaze from down at the trail to up scanning around for eyes whilst running alone at night. My favorite part of the Bluetooth function is that you can check to see exactly what percentage battery you have left, which adds peace of mind on longer runs. I've also used it for hiking, camping and alpine approaches. Excited to try it out this winter on early morning skins! I couldn't be more happy with this purchase and bought a second one for my husband.

The last headlamp you'll ever buy.

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

What more could you possibly want from a headlamp? It's completely customizable! You can create 6 custom settings (3 reactive, 3 constant) right from your phone.

If you realize halfway into a trip that you need more light (surprise, that descent took longer than you thought, and now you get to do a class 4 scramble in the dark) or you need more light (you keep blinding your friends, even on the lowest setting) — just pull out your phone and make the adjustment!

On the dimmest possible setting, you still get enough light for campsite functionality. On the brightest setting... well, let's just say I wish I had THIS light instead of the Reactik when I had to do that class 4 scramble in the dark. :)

My only complaint is the software. It seriously needs some bug fixes deployed. Don't be surprised if it crashes a few times while you're setting your light up. But notice that I still gave the light 5 stars. While annoying, I'm still glad I have this headlamp in my climbing/camping arsenal.

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This headlight is perfect for anything you throw at it. The bluetooth app works well to show you how much battery time you have left and to manually adjust the settings. Inside a tent, the light gets soft enough to diffuse perfectly. You can use the red light mode in low light settings so you dont blind yourself at night when you're taking a tinkle. The fact that it is rechargeable means you don't have to deal with buying overpriced batteries and you're reducing your footprint. Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the market for one headlamp that can replace all others in your gear closet.

          Great headlamp!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this headlamp! The power and features are great for the price and it is SO comfortable on my head! I work in the jungle (it's very dark, I wear a headlamp for long stretches at a time) and so wanted something better and more comfortable than my last headlamp. This is everything I wanted and then some. I confess I haven't used the bluetooth much, but it seems fun if you geek out on that sort of thing. RECOMMENDATION: if you're like me and end up in places with no electricity buy the Petzl adaptor battery pack that lets you use regular AAA batteries in addition to the rechargeable pack the headlamp comes with (also available through Backcountry).

          Perfect for Trail running

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got a head lamp for late night mileage on some trails and outside of town. The reactive lighting works perfectly for when it hits lighter areas with lights or other vehicles shining.

How does the strap work for climbing helmets? Like the BD half dome helmet?
