Great Kayak, BUT (design/manufacturing flaw)
I got mine about 4 years back (used). I use it mostly for ocean fishing (Half Moon Bay) and the SF Bay, and some fresh water reservoirs. Great kayak. I added a tilt up motor by creating a ABS block to go in place of the pedal drive block (Zero new screw holes!) Overall: Good Kayak. The only down side is that Perception used GALVANIZED screw inserts instead of Stainless Steel for the pedal-drive mount plate. These have mostly rotted/corroded out (even though I meticulously fresh-water/ pressure-washer rinse after every salt water exposure.) They are manufactured in such a way as to be non-replaceable without extensive HDPE plastic "welding" re-work. I cannot understand why they did not use stainless steel, or provide some kind of re-work kit. I've narrowed it down to what I think they used: It is a "Stafast I142010H" (Zinc) (Google it)

Fishing weapon
The perception pescador 12 is a fishing weapon. I use it in saltwater and love fishing from it each. And every time !

Going on two years with this kayak, and I have to say I’m still impressed and still get excited when taking my yak out. It has changed fishing for me and I have put some big bucket mouth bass in this yak. I have removed the pulley cord for the rudder and replaced them with stainless steel and it has made all the difference in the world. The turning radius now is incredible. I also added a 19 cent washer where the pedal system connects to the boat and it has given me ZERO trouble. That’s it I figured I would use this yak as my first pedal drive yak and upgrade later. I have decided I love this boat and will use it for many more years to come.
