So good we put a goat on it.

Watch the mountain goats play with Pendleton's Backcountry Exclusive Camp Blanket keeping you comfortably warm. This cozy blanket blends virgin wool and cotton for a soft, smooth, itch-free feel. Wool naturally resists flames and moisture so you can pair the camp blanket with a nighttime fire or rainy Independence Day firework display, which would be even more special considering this blanket is made in the USA. This throw-sized blanket is a car-camper's favorite. Like all Pendleton products, the Camp Blanket stays strong for generations, and when it does give up the ghost, your great great great grandson's pooch is sure to enjoy it.

    Makes a Great Gift

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought one for my wife last year and it was a hit. I decided to stick with what works and bought two more to give to my in-laws this year.

    Super Cozy

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got this as a gift and it's super soft! It's the perfect accent for your living room and a great blanket to bring to outdoor shows etc. I got the Red Mountain style and the colors are beautiful. I may get one for myself!

    Pendleton blanket > gas bill.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Finally bit the bullet and bought myself a pendleton blanket. I've been looking at them for years and could never justify spending the money on it. Now that I'm penniless I'm glad I spent the money because I can't pay the gas bill and my house is very cold. However, this blanket does a phenomenal job at keeping things warm. 10/10.

    Just a Great Blanket

This blanket is really incredible, the wool is really warm, and isn't scratchy at all! Perfect for picnics, concerts, camping, really any activity! Will definitely be keeping this in my car at all times!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was using random things like yoga mats and towels when I went to summer concerts and was slightly (very) embarrassed. The quality and style of this blanket, along with the classic design, really sold this one for me. Great for a gift or something to splurge on for yourself. You won't be disappointed!

      Perfect Wedding Gift

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

I bought this blanket as a wedding gift. It's perfect for the beach, summer concerts on the green, camping or to lay over the bed! Who doesn't like Pendelton? This blanket is more affordable than some of the other styles but seems to be the same high quality as other Pendleton products.

      Great gift

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gave this as a wedding gift and I think I might have to get one for myself. It is super soft and comfortable and the fact that it's smell resistant makes it that much better.

      Wanted for a while

I've been admiring the Pendleton blankets for a while, so I was super excited to see the Clearwater color on sale for 30% off. It is thick and soft, and seems incredibly well made. This will do the trick for many nights on the couch, hanging out on the patio, and out camping! The hemmed edges on the one I received had a reddish brown thread used, not the greenish/beige one depicted in the photo, but I think it looks even better!

Awesome blanket, heritage piece for sure

I bought this as an extra throw for car camping and it's perfect. Not too hot on summer nights and just enough extra warmth when the temperature drops. Not scratchy, even straight out of the bag. And super durable - I'll be keeping this for years I'm sure.

      Warm and Durable

This blanket is amazing, it holds up to every situation and the wool keeps it from picking up any kind of odor (including campfire smoke). I keep it in my car along with the carrier so that it is never left behind. Whenever I take my hammock for overnights I use this instead of my sleeping bag and I stay plenty warm.

        Perfect blanket!

I got this blanket so I could have a heavier duty/ warmer blanket for all the outdoor activities. The wool is not scratchy at all and the blanket has held up very well so far! Great for dogs too! So glad I purchased it!

          Warm and durable

I bought this for an outdoor concert at a high elevation in the rockies. worked like a charm. The blanket is warm and pretty comfy. I think it's a little scratchy at first, but the more we've used it the softer it's gotten. Give it a bit of time to break in, and you'll love it.

          Versatile piece of happiness

My wife purchased these blankets, here's her review: Bought a couple of these blankets just to have around the house. In agreement with other reviewers, these blankets are super soft and don't have the itchiness that some wool products can have. I love the durable feel of these blankets and feel confident that they will get lots of use in our house from cuddling up in one on the couch to keeping us warm on chilly nights out drinking beers and barbecuing.

            • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I love this blanket. The price is a little up there, but it's worth it! It is super soft, strong, and warm. It also has a really great look to it. It is perfect for motorcycle rides, the beach, camping, hanging out in the backyard..

            Worth It

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
            • Fit: True to size

This blanket may come with a bit of a price tag, but even then, it's still about half the price of a normal Pendleton blanket. That being said, it's still just as warm, just as soft, and the quality is just as high. It's a great throw blanket for your bed, and it's also awesome to curl up under after skiing. I'd highly recommend it!

            Pendleton for the win

            • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The camp blanket is obviously one of the most affordable blankets in Pendleton's line. But that doesn't mean that they've toned down the quality by any means. I haven't tried a Pendleton product yet that I don't enjoy and this so far is no exception.
I'd love if it was a bit bigger but the size is pretty good overall.
The fabric blend is excellent. The high quality wool with a little bit of cotton is comfortable. Not itchy like some lower quality wool blankets. Fully anticipate this blanket lasting me years.

            Worth every penny

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'll admit, I balked at spending $100 on a blanket. But when I read Lexi's awesome write-up on her well-loved Pendleton I knew I had to have one.

First off all, I love that this is made in the USA. I try my best to buy American when I can. So that's a win. I got the mineral umber color and love it. It's a nice grey-brown.

My use of this blanket? It lives on my couch and I wrap myself in it whenever I sit down. Yes, when I go camping next summer, this will go with me. And I can see this getting laid out at the crag. But it's really for daily couch usage. It's much softer than I expected a wool blanket to be. No itching going on here. It has withstood my cat's claws with nary a snag. And it's big enough for me to share with my nephew when he stays over. It's warm and cozy, even for someone that's always cold. A lot of times I find my cat laying on it. Sometimes I have to fight her for use of it.

This is a high quality piece. I know it's going to last for many years, and that makes the price easier to swallow. I'm even thinking about getting one to put on my bed for the winter. Get one. You won't regret it.

            Unanswered Question

How does this Backcountry exclusive blanket differ from Pendleton's other camp blankets? The dimensions listed here are 66"x72", but Pendleton lists their identical looking Yakima Camp blanket in twin and queen sizes, the smallest of which is 66"x84". Other than the slight size difference, is there any difference in thickness, etc.?

How often do you all dry clean this blanket after uses?

            Best Answer

I've had mine for ~3 months now. Taken it on 10+ camping trips, a few picnics, a couple days at the lake, and countless uses around the house. I've yet to clean it and haven't had any issues, it has a faint campfire smell from a trip over the weekend, but it dissipates quickly!

Thanks so much Scott for answering! I ended up getting the Mineral Umber one as well! I love it so far. First real use will not be until camping the 1st weekend in October, but was curious to see what other people did. I can't wait to get a fair share of use so I can post my own review!
