Snug and Small Toe box

Based on some reviews I read, these shoes should have been a great fit. I got fat feet, and my old Shimano R088 size 46 got a little too snug. I used the True Fit guide based on my running shoes, and purchased the suggested size (Also a 46.0). The toe box has no room at all. It runs very small, and the fit guide should have suggested a bigger size based just on that. I laid the insole of this shoe next to my New Balance 12 2E shoes that fit, and its noticeable that these Pearl Izumi shoes are smaller in length. When you look for a wide shoe because your foot is wide or fat or both, you don't want a size down. Now I have to pay for the return, after using this True Fit guide, for shoes too small for my feet.
