    Cool Little Bag

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a sweet little bag for school, work, and travel. Not too little so you can still fit a helpful amount of things in it, but small enough that it won't look silly walking into the office or around a city for a day. Features are pretty basic, but I appreciate they kept it simple to keep the price down. Only thing I would love to see added would be a water bottle holder... but there's plenty of room to put my water bottle inside. A little more annoying to get my water, but a good bit less dorky looking so I guess it's a decent trade off. Can't comment on durability yet, but based on my many years of enjoying Patagonia products and their incredible customer service when I do need a repair I don't imagine I'll have any problems.

I cannot rave enough about this bag.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this on a whim from SAC - it was cheap and orange and Patagonia makes quality bags. I thought I would use it for a week and be over it and probably give it away.

This thing ROCKS. I normally hate bucket opening bags for 22L, this thing can hold a ton! I'm talking a weekend trip ton. Most 22L bags I own (I have a few...) are messenger style or suitcase style and don't leave room for the odd shaped items. Once you put a laptop in one of those bags, it's all over. NOT WITH THE TOROMIRO! Seriously, I'm excited because everything is awesome.

First of all, it fits great. I am 5'2" with an athletic build and it's super comfy. My fiance wears it when we hike and he's 5'10", also athletic. Why would I take this hiking? Simple... this bag is great for work and play! First choice for hiking? Not so much, but when I only have room to pack one bag for work and play, this is the one I use.

Style - I thought I would despise the bucket opening and top lid zipper. I thought I would lose things in the large main compartment and things would just fall out of the top zipper opening. NOPE. Nothing sloshes around awkwardly either. Things stay put in the top zipper and even when I accidentally leave open I don't lose things!

I think the biggest win for me was using this on a recent 6 week business trip to Costa Rica. I knew I wanted to explore on the weekends, but I also needed a daily to and from work bag. It was rainy season in Costa Rica, and this bag got DOWNPOURED on daily. With my work laptop in tow, I was concerned initially but after a few treks back to my hotel and hoping for the best, the bag was soaked by contents DRY.

I don't recommend submerging this, as it's not waterproof... but to and from in the rain, the resistance definitely holds up.

Not only was this a big win for me, but being able to empty work contents and pack it for the weekend (Friday-Sunday) was amazing! I shoved my hiking gear, extra food, water, pj's and toiletries in the 22L and off I went! I clipped extra shoes on the outside as well as some other gear.

Don't get me wrong, this was stuffed full, but I always had full access to the zippered parts. Usually, when I fill a bag, it restricts all the other compartments and I hate it.

I took this bag on volcano hikes, beach trips (with really dirty volcanic sand), resort trips, and many bus trips. This thing is filthy, but you can't tell. It still looks pretty new... which is shocking.

I thought the sand would never come out.... I held it upside down and gave it a shake and you can't even tell it went to a beach.

The ONLY thing that shows wear and tear on my bag is the straps, and only because one time I wore a blue shirt hiking and it rained. Combining sweat and rain and straps - they show a little faint blue color from the dye.

No complaints. Ordering another one in another color just for fun. Check SAC!

    Great for work and travel!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I recently purchased this pack in the Reef Waves/Big Sur Blue color-way for work and it's great! The padded laptop sleeve, top compartment, and front pocket are just a few of the great features this pack has to offer. I wish it had a water bottle holder, but the leather gear-loops on the pack work fine for attaching a water bottle with a carabiner.

    Perfect - 5 Stars!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This bag is absolutely perfect. The quality is great, the size is exactly what I was looking for (5'2) I wanted something I could take on day hikes and something to carry my stuff to the gym. Very spacious & comfortable to wear. 5 Stars all day!

    Good ol' simple backpack

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

It's a good backpack. Nothing crazy, very simple. Big enough for my MacBook, and essentials (wallet, small cosmetic bag, etc), nice small top compartment for quick access (keys etc) and small front pocket. It is not capable of holding a ton, but a nice work bag for me. And the sale price...couldn't beat it! Assuming it is well as its Patagonia!

    Great for school, rain, snow

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I did a lot of research before choosing a bag and am happy with this one. I use it as a backpack for college in the midwest, and it's stayed waterproof and comfortable, feeling actually really lightweight on my back (and I'm a pretty scrawny woman). It does seem flimsy at first but it's not, just well made to avoid unnecessary bulk. The zippers aren't the easiest to open/close because of the lip but they're not bad, and that keeps it waterproof which is worth it to me. I usually fill the bag with a 13 inch laptop, half liter waterbottle, notebook, cosmetics bag, purse, snacks, and sweater. If you pack well it's quite roomy. It also looks great, my only issue is that with the bright green you can see a couple of scuff marks as you would on any bag, so if you're not super careful with your bag consider getting a darker color.

    Mediocre materials, small size

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Bought the bag despite other mixed reviews about the durability of the materials. I've owned plenty of bags but for the price, this far far too flimsy a pack. Straps super thin, cheap fabric. Pack also feels small on the back. Returned.

    Great day backpack

I love, love, love, love this backpack. It seems a bit flimsy at first (especially compared to other backpacks I frequently use -- like the Northface Recon), but its simplicity and lightweight design has its own set of perks. I use this backpack around town and to carry things to and from work. Perfect amount of space to fit a laptop, piece of clothing, some notebooks, and my waterbottle. I wish it had a waterbottle spot on the outside, but it would take away from the clean look of the backpack, and it usually ends up filled with junk anyway. The pocket on top prevents small things from getting squished when they're in your bag for a while (especially for things like granola bars/snacks!),

      Perfect Pack

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As a multisport athlete, the bag I carry all my day to day things in must be adaptable to any need.

As a student, it carries up to 25lbs of books comfortably, as well as lunch and a Nalgene. For rock climbing or travel or gym days, it perfectly fits one or two pairs of shoes and enough clothes for a weekend when packed tight. As a cross country and track athlete, the bag is the perfect track bag because it is light, water resistant, and roomy. The bag washes easily, even nasty, thick mud does not stain the bag in any unbearable way.

The laptop sleeve is perfect for my 13" laptop.

I got the fatigue green color on sale for less than $50, and it is exactly what I wanted.

      Perfect Pack

      Put it on the Pizza

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have too many backpacks. From a 5L hydration vest to a 10L mountain biking pack, 22L daypack, 50L weekender...the list goes on and on and on. Every time I move, my mother inquires, "Do you really need all those?" The answer: yes, and one more.

I got this pack a few weeks ago, it caught my eye as I was looking for a less technical pack. Most of my other backpacks are very brightly colored and feature-filled. I needed something a little more low-key, for commuting and overnight getaways. This pack fit the bill perfectly!

The big zippered opening makes packing so easy, everything is able to nest well and the weight balances. The small zipered pocket on the top of the pack is sturdy enough for when you have 2 sets of keys, and all of the cassettes that were in your 1998 Subaru up top. Maybe that's just me... Anyway, it rules.

The laptop sleeve in the back is top notch. The sturdy buckle at the top ensures your lappy doesn't zoom out of the bag when your dog decides to leap from the car into the yard, carrying the pack with her.

The shoulder straps are nothing special, and are adjustable enough for very tall to very average-heighted humans (and dogs).
