Why We Like The Swiftcurrent Expedition Wader
The Swiftcurrent Expedition Wader stands strong when the river's flowing and the fish are jumping. Its 4-layer waterproofing keeps us dry when we're more focused on the catch than where we're wading. Anatomical booties, removable kneepads, adjustable belt and suspenders, and design features offer a comfortable fit to keep us feeling good in general.

Is this the best wader on the market?
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- MRM
First things first this is not an everyday all season wader. And not a wader I’d be hiking around to much in. You will roast in them in the spring and summer time in the lower 48. There is some breath ability but not much. This wader seems to be designed for cooler climates, cold water, and like it says expedition where durability is way more important than weight. At 6ft 1in 175lbs. The MRM size fits perfect. Like a pair of pants with plenty articulation in the knees and crotch to hop in and out of boats. The material is bomb proof. The features are excellent, adjustable shoulder straps and upper torso allowed me to dial in the fit and stay dry. Knee pads are something I never knew I needed and having them is a nice addition. My only two complaints are getting the rear yoke to slide up after you slide it down it’s kind of a pain. And the fleece lining in the feet. This is great idea at first. If you can dry them out. I spent a week in Alaska in them. And could never dry them fully and my feet were constantly wet. If there was an option to not have fleece lined neoprene I’d definitely go that direction.

Great High End Wader
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Had these waders for 2 years now fishing on and off from 2-3 days a week and taking 4-5 trips a year and i love these! they have been super durable im not the nicest to my gear and dont mind sliding down hills on my butt and am always kneeling down to handle fish and havnt had a single leak yet! i would say my only gripe is the inseam fit like most people say. i have found if you properly adjust the shoulder straps especially in the back which helps the butt come down and the fit wont be so tight other than that i love them!

Awesome and built to last

I'm 5'11" 185 pounds with a 32x32 pant size. The medium fits perfect but for sure a trimmer fit. It's funny, the complaints I heard about the previous versions, rio Gallegos and the like were that they fit like garbage bags (too baggy). Seems like with all of the size options you can really choose your fit. I burn through waders like no one's business since I fish 3-5 times a week and only walk and wade. These have shown no sign of wear and are very sturdy. I love the knee pads, the pockets, the fit, but most of all the suspender drop feature. Makes doing your business a lot easier and I drop them down when Id usually wear waist high waders. Try em out, if they don't fit, try a different size. Trimmer lower section guys will be very happy with these.

High quality, but poor crotch fit
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- MRL
- Height:
- 6' 3"

- 180
Wouldn't recommend these due to the crotch fit. The cut needs to be rethought, Patagonia, especially for the asking price. Tried two size of these (LLL and MRL) and the MRL fit better (more fitted of course because of the smaller size) but regardless of choosing long or regular for the length the waders just don't fit right. Maybe it's the gusseted crotch? I know the intent is to provide freedom of movement and a more comfortable wearing experience....but Patagonia failed here. Tried Orvis Pro waders out and the cut is superior, although the materials don't feel as durable as these. The should strap system makes these a pain to get in and out of - buckles would provide an improved experience.

SUPER TIGHT, BRAH!!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- LLL
- Height:
- 6' 1"
- Weight:
- 205
I don't mean tight in a good way. I bought these in two sizes LRL and LLL. Both were lacking in the crucial area during normal walking. Squatting was ironically the most comfortable aspect of wearing these waders. Otherwise, the inside of the crotch just crushes your cashews with each stride. If I were DJ Khalid, I would say you played yourself. Very disappointed Patagonia, how do you scrap the great fit from the Rio Gallegos and Skeenas (both of which I own) for whatever cut it is you dropped with these Expeditions. I'm very average in the lower lot so no, I'm not pounding my chest. Also, your new shoulder strap system sucks. This is a copy-pasta from the Patagonia site. Guaranteed they won't appreciate the honest response and refuse to publish it, but then again I would delete a review like this if it performed a deep squat all over my precious new wader line.
