These have currently been my new favorite pants all winter long! They have been so great for all of my winter mountaineering and snow shoeing. They are so flexible and movable, but also keep me warm and dry. These are water resistant, but feel that I would stay completely dry in a rain storm. I really like that they come up a bit higher in the waist and they have two adjustable sections at the waist so I can cinch them tighter depending on what they are doing. From the feel of the fabric, they feel a bit thick and I had the thought that I would not like them. I gave them a chance and loved them. The regular length was great for me a 5'6 as I hate pants that do not properly cover my boots. The bottom of the pants also cinches as well which was great for snow shoeing. I gifted these to a friend as well and she was over the moon about them. Great pant and I feel that they will hold up for such a long time. Worth every penny.

I listened to the reviews and bought a size larger than normal and they were too big! Returned and ordered a smaller size. I typically wear a 4 and am hoping those will fit me--they seem like good pants and I love the ankle adjuster because pants are always too long on me. Update: Got the size 4, and they definitely fit better. But the fit is just off. The waist is too big and only adjusts so much. The butt is tighter than I'd want for activewear. The legs aren't too tight but they don't really stretch so it feels somewhat restrictive. Because of the fit of the legs and waist they end up sagging down on me, especially if I have stuff in the pockets. For the discounted price, I'd say it's worth it, but I'd be very disappointed if I'd paid full price.

The other reviews are accurate in saying that these pants are snug. However, they worked perfectly for me for what I was using them for. I wore these pants basically 72 hours straight when climbing Mt. Shasta in July. I had no problem wearing the Patagonia Capilene Lightweight bottom underneath. I liked the snug fit of the pants because it kept them from getting in the way while mountaineering. They were unbelievably breathable, fantastic at moisture wicking (we were in snow for 2/3 days), and overall worked really great for what I was using them for. Dirt came off easily, which I had not expected to appreciate, but when you have one pair of pants for 3 days that kind of detail starts to matter. I even wore them glissading (sledding on snow without a sled) for about 4k vertical feet, and although my butt got painfully cold, I was actually shocked that the pants took the insane friction without the smallest indication of the strain. Even better, they were completely dry within 20 minutes. I am usually size 4, and although the pants were tighter than I was expecting, they ended up being the ideal fit for what I needed them for. If you are bulkier in the thighs, butt, or stomach, or if you just want a roomier fit, I would recommend going at least one size up. Overall, I am beyond satisfied with these pants, and I'm excited to put them to more use in the future.

I have a slim / straight shape. I have very narrow hips, and do not have much of a bootie. I Usually take size 26/27 , or a size 2 in women's pants, never larger than a size 4. I ordered these in a size 4 thinking i'd probably have a first layer on , and they were skin tight in the bum and too tight in the thighs. A warm under layer would be impossible. They are so tight im not even sure a size 6 would work if i want to layer . The construction and fabric seem great, but they are going back in favor of a larger size.

I really wanted these to by my go to climbing pants but they simply are not cut for someone with muscular legs. I bought these in my usual size for Patagonia, 6. I found these pants to be uncomfortably tight through the thighs when I tried to move around. Yet, they were quite loose through the waist. They will be going back. Aside from the bad fit for my body type they seem to made of high quality, durable material and the stitching also seemed very well done.

Very comfy, but runs big! :-)

Runs large

These pants are very comfortable to wear for most anything; however, they do run a little on the large side. I am 5'6" and weigh 110 - I had to go with the size 2, and they are still pretty loose-fitting. They will be perfect in the winter with long underwear though, so I don't mind too much. I like the fact that the bottoms will cinch up if needed, and that the pockets all zip. Because of the high waist, it keeps my climbing harness from rubbing. If these are worn high like they're intended (which mine won't because the waist is too loose on me), the inseam will only be about 32". I have longer legs and are kind of grateful that the pants fall a little below my actual waist, and therefore give me an extra inch or so for the length. lol

Inseam? Do you know the inseam on these pants?
