    Capilene Air Hooded Top

Before you head out to hit the slopes, go for a snowshoe, or head for winter camp, layer up with the Patagonia Capilene Air Hooded Top. The airy wool blend wicks away moisture as your heart rate rises, and the natural odor resistant properties of the Merino wool will keep you fresh the whole day on the slopes. You'll have total freedom of movement as you pole plant thanks to the seamless 3D construction and the soft stretchy material. The seamless construction also ensures you'll be chafe free as you move around in the mountains. On particularly cold days, the high collar hood with anatomical shaping can be pulled up under your helmet or beanie for extra warmth.

    best warmth/weight ratio ever

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I really, really love this hoody because of how lightweight it is yet how warm--super breathable and never feels wet or clammy even with high exertion Trail running up big hills). The scuba hood protects the face really well from the elements beneath a jacket hood as well as your chin from the zipper = win/win! My only concern is with the durability if it's the layer you're wearing underneath a running hydration pack--seems it may rough the fabric up pretty quickly. Without that type of friction against it = staying in flawless appearance/shape though I do wash it on cold in a garment bag and hang dry. :). I love patagonia--incredible wear value--I have one of these in the crew style and now one hoody. Side note--they're so beautifully made it easily goes with fancy jeans or skirt for out and about to dinner or church or etc. makes me feel like I'm getting "dressed up for the trail"...

    Great baselayer

This top is incredibly warm, soft and breathable. As expected from the air capilene, it breathes great and allows you to layer appropriately while on the move. My wife wears this whenever we're skiing, hiking, touring, etc.

      So Warm!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: Small

I've worn this item ~ 10 times since getting it, it is my new go to base layer.
It's really warm but also very thin so easy to layer. Love the hood. My only complaint is that the front gets a bit damp if you pull it up over your nose and mouth.. but that's pretty standard.

      So Good

If you're looking for something to wear on an epic and then to a fancy dinner afterwards, this is the thing!

I purchased this about a month ago and didn't take it off for a week. It regulates temperature very well and hasn't started smelling. The material made me nervous that it would snag on things but it got stuck to some Velcro and there are no snags!!

I typically am between a large and a medium. For layering purposes I went with a medium, it fits slim.

Overall I am very stoked about when I get to put this on. It is comfortable and durable and it has exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend this product.
