Don't let the weather say no.
When the slopes are calling but the temperature outside is trying to keep you away, slip into the Patagonia Capilene Air Bottom before layering up. Now you can hit the slopes, rocks, or trails in warmth and comfort. This comfortable and airy baselayer is a near fifty-fifty blend of merino wool and recycled polyester that wicks moisture and dries quickly. Wool has natural odor-repelling properties as well to keep you smelling fresh after going from first to last chair on the hill. To keep you comfortable, this bottoms is constructed using an innovative, seamless, 3-D knit structure to stretch and move with you (while being soft on the skin) so you can focus on the send, not a weird seam across your thigh.
- Comfortable and warm baselayer for cold-weather adventures
- Airy wool blend wicks moisture and dries fast
- Merino wool keeps you smelling fresh beyond the send
- Seamless soft fabric stretches and moves with the body
- 3D construction eliminates both chafing and wasted materials

- Q & A
Comfy, warm, but not practical
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: Runs large
- Size Bought: Medium
- Height: 6'0"
- Weight: 190lbs
I was very excited about these. They are warm, comfy, and have a nice stretch, that makes movement easy. BUT... The first thing is NO FLY. Why? What did Patagonia take out the fly? This is very inconvenient when wearing regular pants over them, never mind wearing ski pants or a harness. It’s just not functional. There’s nothing like pissing all over your nice ski pants because your long underwear doesn’t have a fly, and the elastic waistband is pinching your stream into a fire hose: Come on!
The second reason I give these 1 star is: they are already wearing out. Holes are forming in the croci after a month of use. For $130.00 these better last a couple of seasons, not 1 month.
I really wanted to love these and make them my go to thermals, but it’s just not affordable or functional. Patagonia is suppose to be better than this. I am so disappointed.

me and my brother here jackson smith both got these and man do we dig them! the fit well and keep yo warm what more could you ask for!
My Go -To For My Bottom Base Layer
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
I have absolutely loved the Capilene Air bottoms this season. It has been 10 below for much of the winter here in the Wasatch, and these base layers have absolutely performed during my chilly ski tours. They are amazing at keeping my lower half the perfect temperature. They've never felt swampy, and I've yet to feel cold while wearing them.
