    Love Love Love

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

I'm a vest slut. I love vests. This one rocks. It's warm, it's comfortable, it's durable. AND it looks amazing (I got the ruby, but it was a tough choice)! Patagonia did it. I'm not sure what else you could want in a vest.

Who needs a full jacket when you can layer under this amazing Bivy Hooded Down Vest?! I bought one of these in last years color way, and am more in love with it than ever. Super toasty, I layer this over a Patagonia Snap-T most days in the fall and spring.

My step daughters home burned down July 2nd, and she lost most of her gear and clothing. I purchased this for her (along with much more) to help her get geared back up for a month long trip to Europe. She loves it as much as this time around!

Best choice I've made for a Vest!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XS
    • Height: 5'3"
    • Weight: 115lbs

Love this thing through and through! I have worn it almost every day since I got it! So cute, so warm, and people can't get enough of it! Favorite piece in my closet right now for sure! If you are looking to layer under, size up for sure. I got a XS and can layer sweaters and long sleeves under, but cannot get any of my insulated layers comfortably under it.

    So cute and warm

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XS
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 123lbs

Love this vest! Been eyeing it since last season but I didn't get it last year because of the price, and it sold out extremely fast! I'm glad I picked it up this season because the colors are even better! I got the sulfur yellow/navy combo and it's a great color combo for fall/winter and rainy days, it's so cute!! I love that the down used is recycled and how there's a DWR coating to combat the weather. It keeps me warm and cozy, I wear a XS and I'm 5'4" and around 120-125 lbs. The fit is a regular fit, a tiny bit big for me even for the XS, but it allows for layering. The only con I have is that the the material does attract a lot of lint, not sure if it's because of the color I chose but it's a lint magnet! An easy fix is to use a lint roller before wearing it, but it's just a little annoying when I want to just throw on the vest and go outside.

    So cute and warm

    5 Star Bivy

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'3"
    • Weight: 120lbs

This is one of the few 5 star items hanging in my closet. I'm a beast when it comes to reviewing jackets (my closet is full of an embarrassing amount) and I have few 5 star coats in my arsenal. Here is why this one takes the cake.

    1. Recycled Down: WHAT? Yes. Patagonia responsibly sources their down from products like comforters, old jackets, or pillows and gives it a new life rather than sacrificing new birds to keep us warm. I think that is pretty darn neat, and I feel a little bit better about sporting down, knowing this fact.

    2. Fit is Perfect: I don't know what those wizards are doing over at Patagonia but their woman's fit is one word: DIALED. I am 5'3" and 120lbs and the size small is perfectly tailored in every way.

    3. Details, Details, Details: I loved the silky taffetta lining inside the vest. It's a lovely floral pattern. I think it beautifully contrasts with the more masculine and utilitarian feel of the tough/thick DWR outer fabric. This appeals to my inner girly-girl, who I try to keep hidden. The pockets are lined with a nice, cozy fabric that's ideal for chilly hands.

    4. Durability: Besides being water resistant this fabric is really abrasion resistant too. It's thick and ready to rumble. I honestly do not mind paying a little extra for a Patagonia product, because I have perfect confidence it will spend the next 10 years in my closet. 100% worth it 100% of the time, every time.

    5. Classic: I may not be much of a fashionista, but the clean lines on this vest won't go out of style anytime soon. It's cozy, cute, and fetching. Did I also mention it's warm? I tend to run hot, so adding an extra layer to my core is the perfect way to bundle up on chilly mornings or campfire nights. With the down feathers, this one is warmer than most; it's QUITE thick! But not so thick as to transport you into Michelin Man territory.

I'd been lusting after this vest for 18 months. I can't say I'm surprised but it's my most commonly used piece of fall attire. Can't wait to apres all over the canyons in this thing for winter!

    Shred on.

    Cute and Warm

    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 120lbs

I bought this vest for my girlfriend, who loves it. She sized up from her normal xs, to make sure she could wear layers underneath. Both fashionable and functional!

If you like vests, you'll love this one!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 130lbs

This vest is everything I thought it would be. I ordered it in a Medium, because i wanted to be able to layer underneath it and I think the size is perfect! Its long enough to stay covered if I take it out on the slopes this winter, but not too long that it can't also be worn casually - which is how I plan to mostly wear it. The inner pattern is really cute too, it has mushrooms and not that anyone will see it- I thought it was a cute detail. It will keep me super cozy this winter and in Park City, that is a necessity. So glad I bought one of these!

    Fantastic Vest

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

This vest is modern and old school all in one piece of clothing. Fits really well, form fitting and snug through the hips so you don't feel bulky or manly. You will love this vest!

    Add it to every ensemble!

I pair this vest with everything you can think of: t shirt, flannel, sweater, coat, and hoodie. It looks good with every single one of them and keeps me so warm. I never imagined a vest keeping me toasty warm (excluding arms of course) like this. I'm completely satisfied with it.

      Love it!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: small
      • Height: 5'5"
      • Weight: 120lbs

I love this vest! So comfy and warm. I used this vest as my only source of warmth on a weekend getaway to Colorado earlier this winter. I was limited to just a backpack so I didn't have the space for a normal mid-weight coat. I decided to take the chance/risk of just using the vest and i'm happy to say I didn't regret it once! The down insulation kept me nice and toasty when the sun would start to go down and temperatures dropped. It felt like my core had a little heater wrapped around it. The liner is really comfortable and the pockets are money. The lining in them is soft and cozy and are a dream for hands that might be a little chilly. The only downside to this vest is that the nylon canvas outer material is a literal magnet for anything with static cling. If you have an animal that sheds, chances are you'll end up looking like you are wearing a fur vest. I would definitely invest in a lint roller but that is a tiny price to pay for such a great piece! I'm 5'5 and about 120 with a C chest and the small fit me perfectly!

      Awsome vest!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: xs
      • Height: 5'7"
      • Weight: 127lbs

I have only owned this a month, but have worn it constantly in Pacific Northwest fall weather. I like a more snug vest-I have avg build and 34B chest. The xs still fits comfortably over your average hoodie or long sleeve shirt. Bonus-it goes with everything! I work in it (farmer) and go out in it and the xs was a good choice. I am a small in almost all shirts, so I would recommend sizing down if you don't want a bulky vest, unless you have a large chest.

      Great essential vest

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: Extra small
      • Height: 5'4"
      • Weight: 116lbs

This a high quality casual vest that will keep you warm and insulated. I purchased the oxblood red color in XS, This vest runs on the larger side so size down . The vest is made very well, it will hold up nice in any activity .
      Extra info:
I am petite however I have a ddd 32 chest. The XS fits perfectly.the small would have been way too big. Also beware the vest down/feathers shed enough for you to acknowledge it as a potential problem.

nice vintage looking vest, runs big.

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: Xsmall
      • Height: 5'2"
      • Weight: 105lbs

In person it looks just like in the picture, it's longer than the regular down vest and it feels warmer. I'm 5,2 high and I weight 105, I'm usually xsmall, but this vest was too big in the shoulders, Otherwise I'd had kept it instead of returning. This vest is more outdoors style than the regular down vest, seems perfect for snowboarding or any backcountry activity.
