Why We Like The Outdoor Research Sureshot Softshell Glove

Our hands often get swampy in waterproof gloves, so we like the Outdoor Research Sureshot Softshell Glove for our winter hikes, cross-country skiing, and trips across town. Goat leather overlays on the palm add durability and grip while the tips of the thumb and pointer finger are touchscreen compatible for our phones, vehicles, and tech toys.

Cool Weather Glove

Perfect fit and still have enough dexterity to handle my service weapons. As the title says cool weather down to maybe 20 degrees Fahrenheit below that and your digits will be cold.

Perfect for resort skiing

The fit is excellent, easy to put on and take off, waterproof enough for skiing and just the right amount of insulation for high output activity in freezing temps.

Excellent light weight gloves!

Excellent choice for light outside activities! These provide just the right amount of warmth during activities. These gloves have the perfect amount of stretch and are super comfortable!

No warmth whatsoever

Bought these to replace my OR fleece gloves. The fleece gloves are great for mild temperatures, but provide no little to no protection once they get wet. I bought these hoping for a similar level of warmth but added weather resistance and was quite disappointed. On a 40°F day my hands were as cold as it I wasn't wearing anything.

Active Pursuit Gloves with great dexterity

These are some great gloves for active pursuits in the mountains. Being softshell, they are not super water-resistant, but they have great dexterity for backcountry activities such as transitions, ripping skins, doing buckles, etc. I would be happy if they had a little more insulation, but they are great for those warmer days.

Very maneuverable gloves

These are perfect for just normal day to day wear... Not overly thick and keeps my hands warm in cold temps... If it gets too cold I use my thicker gloves but these are great for anything around the house outside...

Excellent softshell glove

Picked these up for spring skiing in SoCal and travel in colder places. They're fantastic for anything in 30s-40s or windy/misty 50s. Havent had the opportunity to try them in 20 degree weather but eager to see how they perform when skiing, hiking or being active in colder weather. I am 5'11, 210lbs, wear size 9.5 shoes and found a Large fit perfectly.

Only item I've ever been dissappointed with from OR

5th-6th pair of gloves I've ordered from OR. Wanted water and wind resistance with a thinner insulation and some tactile feel, thought I found it. Unfortunately the sewing on the cuff near the elastic portion was defective and the glove disintegrated at the worst time.

Not warm

Been using these as commuter gloves during the winter, they provide minimal to no warmth. They look good but serve no purpose as a winter/cold weather glove. These are better suited for fall at best.
