Nice jacket. Do not like the zipper

The jacket is good. Overall it is fit well and is OK to adjust. The little grommet clips to adjust the waist are very difficult to manipulate. My main problem is the 2-way zipper. It is extremely difficult to operate. Impossible to do one-handed and often requires you to stop and try several times to get the zipper seated correctly. I do not need/want the 2-way zipper. It would be fine if it worked but it does not work.

GREAT light ski jacket!

Water resistant. Worn in a couple of heavy rains and stayed comfortably dry. Fit, as advertised. Wrist velcro sizing and zippers are an improvement over previous models. Style and color really stand out and garner compliments!

Comfortable Shell - Does it use PTFE/XPTFE?

My experience after 1 month: - Comfortable jacket, moves freely without crinkling. Have gotten compliments on the green colour. - Light rain and snow beads off it (good DWR), I'm confident it will hold up in the snow. - Breathable, but also seems to keep most of the wind out (at least with a good puffer). - Jacket is a great length (below hips so the jacket doesn't come over up too much when reaching up). Less boxy than many other shells I've tried recently. A good athletic fit. Pairs well with a fleece/puffer. Tighter around hips, but this might be to compensate for the lack of internal waist gaiter. - Big hood - it bunches up a bit when cinched down without a helmet. - Lots of nice big pockets (2 hip, 2 chest, 1 internal) with good, waterproof, zippers (no velcro). The hip pockets sometimes get in the way when moving your arms back and forth - so I keep the zippers closed. - The pit zips are massive and don't have mesh backing and open wide. I haven't had to use them much due to the breathability of the jacket. They also have 2 way zippers, so I usually use both to manage the size of the pit opening. I often bring both zippers to the middle to allow - The cuffs are huge and, without gloves, there is a lot of bunching when velcroed smaller. The extra fabric annoyingly rubs against my wrists, but the material has soften up a little since I got it. - Ascentshell uses "Electrospinning" to make the fabric... but I can't final anywhere that indicates whether or not it uses PTFE/ XPTFE. www.outdoorresearch.com/en-ca/blogs/stories/the-science-behind-ascentshell-technology

Perfectly fits my size and high quality made

I am 6 foot tall with a 40.5'' chest. And M size perfectly fits me. Haven't tried it on yet. The quality looks pretty good.

Good looking jacket but lacks durability

I bought this jacket last month and after only 9 days of resort riding the jacket already shows signs of distress at and around the seams. Disappointed and wished I spent the extra money to get something better.

All in all a great shell however...

I returned this product before using it

To me, anyway, this jacket seems to be made very well. I thought it had a powder skirt, which it doesn't, but that was most likely my mistake. As for sizing. I generally wear a Medium to medium slim. I have a long torso at 5' 9' with a 29" inseam. Yet, this jacket was long in the body and 4" long in the sleeve, So order a size down and take your chances. I am returning mine.

Great Jacket - Holds Up to the abuse

Had the jacket for 2.5 weeks and have put in 11 days on the mountain. it has been my new go to jacket. 7 days in the backcountry and 4 resort days. conditions have ranged from a sunny day to full on storm skiing. The Skytour jacket has shown to be a great fit, holds up in weather keeping me dry on wet days, while being breathable during the uphill climb on the skin track. The material has shown to be durable while charging through the trees and slapping branches (other jackets have not held up).

Great shell for touring or inbounds!

I've just used this shell touring. All the ventilation zippers make it the perfect jacket to wear. The pits and front (from top or bottom) can be opened to air out. There's great storage with the 2 front chest pockets and 2 hand pockets. It runs a little big (I'm 6'1" using the Large) so it's got room to layer below for really cold days.
