A hardshell for your hand.
Layer over your lightly insulated ski touring gloves with Outdoor Research's Revel Shell Mitten when wet weather rolls in. Its Pertex Shield+ membrane offers highly rated waterproof breathable protection, and fully taped seams enhance waterproofing by preventing a single snowflake from seeping through. An AlpenGrip LT palm gives you a good grip on your poles, and the pre-curved box construction sets your hand in a natural position. The SuperCinch gauntlet closure works with the ladder-lock wrist cinch to ensure a snug fit.

OR Shell gloves 5 stars
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Wore in Grand Canyon camping last week. Was colder and got into rain and snow that had not been expected. Mitts worked great over light wool gloves. These Mitts are well made and durable. Definitely 5 stars from my perspective.
Isn't a perfect fit, but it's a keeper
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I bought these for a 16 day, Spring, cold-weather backpacking trip. I wanted a shell that I could put over my thin fleece gloves. They are just the shell, even though the photos look like they are full gloves. They fit true to size. Well made. They are not as comfortable as i would like, but it's not a deal breaker for me. They are tough and the palm fabric is very sturdy, which is good for ski poles or trekking poles.
I’m shopping for overmitts, but have concerns about them being an actual OVERMITT. I have big hands. Usually a “normal” glove size XL. I’m looking for an OVERMITT to go over thick wool mittens, without being too tight Are these sized appropriately to reflect that they are an OVERMITT? Or are they sized with normal sizes. If they are “normal”, I’d be looking for a 2XL or even a 3XL possibly.
