Great minimalist pack
After having my mobility reduced by cancer & the resulting successful surgeries, I need a new pack for a minimalist bushcraft set-up as I could no longer carry a heavier pack. The Field Explorer Pack fit the bill exactly. It's tough & rugged by design, comfortable to pack a 20lb load in & looks stylish. The only con is the lack of a waist belt. Yet another great product from Outddor Research. I expect many years of service from it.

Great backpack for commuting

Stylish but oversized for a 25L backpack
Overall it's a sleek and stylish bag but is too oversized for what I expected out of a 25L backpack. A coworker bought and enjoyed the 35L Double Hull for traveling which made me want to try the "slightly smaller" 25L bag, but when we compared them my 25L bag was the same size, if not wider, as the 35L bag?? This bag feels like a weird middle ground between the 20L and 35L packs with none of their outstanding strengths. Returning this for something else. Not recommending this only because you're better off spending the extra $20 for the 35L bag. Pros: Sturdy, quality construction. Fewer external zippers/straps/dangly bits makes it better for travel. Stylish design, I like the orange color a lot. Cons: Oversized for being advertised as 25L Not enough organization options for a bag this size. Side clips for the top roll closure will come undone if the bag isn't filled all the way.
