Why We Like The Coldfront Down Jacket
The Coldfront Down Jacket from Outdoor Research never leaves our side. And that's regardless of whether we're embarking on high mountain missions, frozen waterfall climbs, or casual ventures through chilly winter streets. By putting down in the torso and synthetic fibers in the collars, shoulders, and cuffs means we have sophisticated insulation that better prevents heat from escaping where it does most. Basically, it's hard to get cold under the cover of this bomber top.

Really nice and inexpensive down jacket.
Local company that uses recycled material where they can. It's a puffy jacket and will work well for me in the winter. Good amount of down. The only con is the cuffs aren't quite tight enough. But not a deal breaker. For $109, I'll have a warm winter jacket for years!

Don't pay attention to most of the reviews
Good value for hunting wear. I've read a number of reviews and people don't seem to realize that a little loose is a good thing for warmth. Air pockets = warm air trapped. 5'9", 195 pounds. XL is perfect to keep in the pack and pull out to throw over all layers. I see reviews where good size men are saying size medium or large are too small? Makes no sense in the real world. Order your normal size and if you want to throw over a bino harness order one size up.

Strange sizing, not much insulation
I purchased this to replace a 10+ year old down jacket from back in the day when puffy jackets were actually puffy and very, very warm. Based on photos, this jacket looked like it would do the trick but unfortunately it has about the same amount of down as typical down "sweater" type garments. A little more for sure, but definitely not a ton more. Size was also strange; I consistently fit very well in small OR shirts and shells, but this thing was huge; felt like a medium at least. Length was long, arms were long, and overall cut was just too loose. I'm sure the quality and everything else is great hence the good rating. But for me the deal was broken as soon as I experienced the small amount of down and the odd sizing.

Very nice coat, small arms.
I liked the material and the vintage look of the jacket a lot. I'm a big guy and the body was generously cut, but the arm holes were extremely tight for a 2xl jacket, the seam would have rubbed my arm pit raw. If your a heavy person with relatively small arms or narrow shoulders, its a nice jacket

Warm Jacket
Size down if you want a tight fit. If you will be layering stay true to size

Roomy and Warm
I really like the Coldfront Down Jacket because I'm a Senior Citizen who has put on a few pounds over my years of injuries, long commutes, and too much time working in front of a computer. The Coldfront is cut roomy so that I can still layer underneath, unlike packable "down sweaters" that tend to feel like I'm wearing a finger-trap. Thanks for taking into account "real" physiques!

Perfect fit and level of warmth
This coat has become my favorite. It is so comfortable! I bought a man's and like the fit better. The level of warmth is perfect for our dramatically changing PNW temps. The texture is soft and it doesn't retain BO which is a problem for me with the Patagonia puffers

Warm, light, and comfortable
I love it and its everything I needed for east coast winterrs. Be aware that it runs a little big. I'm 5' 9" with a weight lifter build and even the small is a little big on me. Only complaint is the collar doesn't stay flat.
