Good Ski Touring Layer

I've used it several times ski touring in the wasatch in warmer conditions. Thumbholes and baklava/hood are great features and it breathes decently enough (for the heat I used it in). Cannot say how it holds up on a cold day but no complaints so far. I will say it is a little rougher than one would hope for a base layer, I got a little chafing on my chest with it but I wear bibs touring so your mileage may vary. The fabric overall should be softer at this pricepoint imo. At my height/weight it is just on the edge of being too short but still fits fine. Size: M Measurements: 6ft 175

Life saver for running in the cold!

I love having an extra warm layer to use on cold days! Having it come over my forehead and up over my chin is very nice and makes a big difference to help me get out on colder days. It is a little scratchier than I was hoping - did not bug me once running but will likely use it as a second layer.

men's merino 150 hoodie

Great design that is light weight. Frequently a light windbreaker over the hoodie are adequate for many activities. The hood and face gator protect my head from the sun and when not used are unnoticeable. The hoodie keeps frosty drafts out while sleeping in camp on very cold winter nights.

Warm but not bulky. Hood is perfect

The hood provides full face coverage if/when desired. This is a warm, lightweight base layer. I'll never go back to polyester baselayers.

Park Ranger approved

For the last two years, I've worked as a park ranger. Last season, I ordered several pairs of the black (to meet our uniform requirements). These save my butt. They're just thick enough to block out a lot of the wind and crap and they're great layering piece where I can put my uniform shirt over top. Highly recommend these for anybody who's looking for something for a little bit more neck protection when it's windy.

Unbelievably Pleased With This Layer - LOVE THE HOOD

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased this hoodie (blue camo version) to take on my ride across the Great Allegheny Passage. Kept me warm in the mornings, all I really needed in 60 and when it got too warm, sweat is wicked away... Also, perhaps most importantly, this item does not carry any smell! I then wore it everyday for two weeks in Mexico City and only had to wash it once. Love the thumb wholes. I am small and ordered the small. Fits snug, and I realize I probably wouldn't want it baggier. I like that I can layer OVER it. Would recommend purchasing this item.

Good for moving around in cold temps

I've used this without additional top layers while walking to work in 40 degree temps and backpacking in at/around below freezing, and it excelled in both conditions. The hoodie feels sturdily built and hoodie/face covering combo is wonderful. Aside from that, it dries fast and doesn't pickup smells. For personal comparisons, I'm a big bellied/boobed 5'10 180ish-lbs guy and the medium works well for me (not flattering but very comfortable).

Lovvve It!

I've been working as a park ranger this past couple of months and I've been struggling with finding wool hoodies that are lightweight. Years of working as a guide, now a park ranger... Being outside alot has had alot of challenges. It all comes down to gear. I've always wanted a wool hoody, something that would also help protect my neck (in addition with a neck gaiter). OR literally done it. Hope this product continues to be around more seasons!
