Warm but no stretch
I got this as a warm base layer, but was disappointed to find that the fabric has very little stretch and a very tight neck. It fits well besides the neck which practically chokes me. I do a little sewing, so will find a way to modify it, but it's disappointing to get a new item that's uncomfortable. It is extremely warm and the maroon is a beautiful color. I'm a large/athletic XL (38C cup) for reference.

Great All Season Layer!
6 months in and this hoodie is my best friend, I seriously wear it everywhere! Skiing, hiking, and the grocery store- often back to back- so thank goodness it doesn't hold smell. The design is so well thought out, (hello pony tail slit!!) and the cut is flattering. It does fit looser than a true base layer, (its easy to fit another layer underneath) but I'm okay with that b/c its not to tight for casual everyday wear. Like other comments mention the material is a little bit scratchy/itchy. But either I've gotten used to it or it's gotten softer b/c I don't even notice it anymore! The fabric isn't sheer/see through at all. I'm 5'10/athletic build & medium was perfect.

Good coverage, not particularly soft
I appreciate how the neck and lower face can be fully covered when the hood is up. The material is pretty stiff, however. I am hoping it softens up after the first few washes. Fits on the slightly larger size compared to most medium baselayers I have worn.

Love this hoodie!
I love this hoodie. The shape of the hoodie part is really nice - your eyes are not closed in...keeps your face warm and can be worn under a helmet or hood. Merino wool is warm and not scratchy. Lightweight warmth! Pretty colors!

Solid winter warmth if a bit scratchy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Some people have a pretty low tolerance for the scratchy feeling of wool fabrics. This shirt is not for them. I don't tend to mind much and recognize the natural wool fiber feel keeping me warmer - I even love the smell. The color, fit and quality are all great. So unless you have a strong aversion to the feel of wool on your skin then this is a great base layer for cold and unpredictable weather conditions.
