Why We Like The Dominator FTS Crash Pad

Boasting some of the most impact-absorption in the climbing world, the Dominator FTS Crash Pad is designed for the falls that come with climbing highball boulders. Instead of the commonly found multi-density foam, this pad features unique, cylindrical Foam Tub Suspension (FTS) AbsorptionBlocks that drastically increase the pad's protective padding while simultaneously reducing weight.

  • Crash pad crafted specifically for highball boulders
  • FTS AbsorptionBlock padding greatly improves energy absorption
  • Two locking hook-and-loop straps make setup and pack-up faster
  • Integrated carpet pad wipes grease and grime off shoes
  • Shoulder straps, carry handles, and shoulder sling offer versatile carry options

New Standard for Crash Pads

I've put it through the wringer
Size Bought:
5' 5"

I didn't realize how clunky and non-breathable my crash pads were until this one came into my life. Am I being dramatic? No, truly. The Dominator is a game-changer for falls, comfort, and compactness. There *is* one specific pro that comes with a's water resistant (dope!) but the material that Ocún uses to achieve this slides on snow (doh). This is only an issue in alpine environments when the snow hasn't melted yet. Maybe just don't use it for the pad that you jump onto after topping out a boulder. Still, 5 stars in my book.

Super light pad

For how thick this pad is, its super light and easy to carry. It's inside tech also makes it the best for jumping onto from high up, so I always make people move it to the top of a pad pile if I have to jump down! it absorbs impact so much better than other pads I've used.
