small, narrow, could not wear

Hoped these shoes would fit as they came up when I searched for wide road bike shoes. Ordered a size up from what I would wear according to the size chart. I could barely get my foot in the shoe. Very disappointing. I sent them back, and did get a refund, minus the return shipping. I normally wear a Women's 7.5
