    A shoulder season essential.

Norrøna built its Svalbard Cotton Anorak Jacket with organic cotton and recycled polyester to be your go-to, eco-friendly top for spring and fall. Lightweight and comfortable, this Anorak features a front kangaroo pocket to stow a hat, sunglasses, or the medium-sized stuffed animal you won at the county fair. The 1/4-length neck zipper lets you circulate air on warm days, and the storm hood shields out high winds once the early-season, high-pressure system breaks apart.

    Love the styling

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 185lbs

I really like the styling of the Norrona brand and have loved the Svalbard Heavy Duty pants I bought from them so I thought I would give this Anorak a try. I really like the styling and for my height and body type the fit runs larger, but after sizing down it was excellent as I like to wear it as an outer layer on those colder days as well as a single layer on the warmer ones. It's made of a thicker, durable cotton-poly blend that I think would do well in the rain, though I've only worn it out in a light drizzle. I love the double zip access front pocket as well as the kangaroo pouch up front. My only complaints on this Anorak are how difficult it is to take off. Even with the side zip, I swear I brake a sweat every time I have to take it off. The other feature I find difficult is the zippers. I feel like because they are such a small zipper it makes it difficult to zip and unzip. But, because of how much I like the anorak when I'm wearing it, I wear it pretty often.

    NEW VERSION NOT BAGGY ANYMORE?

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: M
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 190lbs

I check the review first before placing the order. I bought both the small and medium ( I usually wear M in Norrona except some slim fir ones I will have to go up to L).

I found the M was absolute correct for me as the size chart suggested, maybe Norrona has changed the cut for the 2016 version.

I feel quite free wearing it and looks quite good except it's a bit hard to put off.

For the craftmanship, made in Vietam, so not as good as those MADE-IN-CHINA.

I received both Iguana in medium and Phantom in small .The Iguana color seems a little lighter than the picture shows and Phantom is a little dark brown?

I am looking forward that they looks even better after several washes.

    I am 5'10" and 190lbs, chest 38.5 and waist 33.

    Hope it will help.

    Great quality but too big

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: M
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 198lbs

Quality, finish and materials are nice but the fit is too big.
Also, it is a little bit hard to take it out, but this is more logic.

    Just right for the desert

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 165lbs

I am located in Trans Pecos area of West Texas. I work outdoors everyday. The fabric is a great windstopper as well as being snag resistant to the native mesquite thorns that usually shreads most shells. The size was spot on for me. Allowing me to layer up with heavy sweaters. The side zipper on the right side is very handy in allowing easy access to tools that are carried on my hip. I would like to see another zipper on the left side. It would make putting the garment on and removing it easier. Thanks!

    NIce but too big

    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: M
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 154lbs

I'm 178cm / 70kg and bought M size. I found it really too big for me, this is also big for heavier and a little bit taller friends (f.e. 185cm / 83kg). I brought it to Slovakia from U.S. and have no possibilieties to change it or return back :(

    Great Jacket, size down

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large

I am 5'11" (1.8m) 165lbs (75kg) and I initially bought the medium. I found it to be a little to big for me and the fit was baggy. Maybe this is the intention of the fit, but I went down to a small and was happier. The small is a little snug, but looks better.

Front pocket would really only hold a rolled up magazine. All around though, nice jacket. Looking forward to using it this winter. Also orange peel is a bit of a misnomer as it is the same color red you see in the picture

Ideal blend of functionality and style

    Me - 185cm/85kgs

    Size - medium

    Colour - Phantom/Magma

I've had this anorak for a week and I'm really enjoying it. As my title suggests, it looks great (photo to come) and will keep the functional types happy too.

It's really comfortable on top of a T-shirt or other base layer. It's light enough that you don't really notice you're wearing a pretty durable and protective piece. I've walked through a few city parks with it on and it keeps the elements out really well. Wind resistance is good and it breathes surprisingly well too. I doubt it would be suitable for high energy pursuits but it wasn't designed for that.

I gave it 3 stars because I've only had it for a week, haven't had an opportunity to really test it out. However, I do expect it to get more stars on my next review.

UPDATE: OK I've had this for a while now and I've worn it almost everyday in this autumn weather. It's ideal for this shoulder season with a mid layer underneath. The anorak moves nicely with my body with the extra layer and it does an excellent job of keeping the wind out. Not wind proof but very resistant to cold winds. I like the velcro cuffs, they're robust and do the job they're supposed to. Overall I think this is an excellent product and I'll be wearing it throughout winter too.

    Very satisfied

I just received this anorak, and I am very happy with the result. The material used for this Anorak is extremely comfortable and it protects you well against wind. I bought the grey one, but be aware that it is really a more darker kind of brownish colour. It doesn't really matter though, because I like the original colour more than the colour on the photo.
I would definately recommend this product.
