Why We Like The New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro GTX Mid Trail Running Shoe
When the trail is rocky and the weather unpredictable, we lace into the New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro GTX Mid Trail Running Shoe. Through rain, hail, and snow, the GORE-TEX membrane keeps our feet dry without causing them to sweat out, while the burly yet supple leather upper resists abrasions and tears. Reinforced with Toe Protect technology, this pair prevents stubs and bruising as we rock hop, and the adaptable platform molds to the terrain to stabilize our strides.

Unsatisfactory Color Combination
Although comfortable, I returned these because I din not like the color combination of orange laces with a brown sneaker body and white soles. Why not make a hiking sneaker in shades of brown and taupe, perhaps with a simple black sole?

Great fit
My feet are difficult to fit because I have a wide foot with a high arch. Years ago I discovered the NB boots, and have bought and worn out maybe 8 pair. When the time came to replace the last one, I discovered that it was no longer available, had been replaced with this one. Naturally I was uncertain if it would fit, but had to try. Fits beautifully. I bought 2 pair, and will likely buy more!

Comfortable and plenty of grip on the sole
Shoes are comfortable and just the right ruggedness needed for my hikes and disc golfing.

Hiker at 77
Recommended by my neurologist, I chose a trail shoe as I am 77 And a life long hiker. Dr said my sore feet needed a more supportive shoe, particularly in the arch. I am able to walk in comfort again. The sole has excellent traction on the trails through the Adirondack Mts. I did need to choose one size larger than normal. LOVE these

Great fitting waterproof walking shoe.
Comfortable and perfect fit. Extra wide is not easy to find.

Comfortable, warm, but poor build quality.
Very disappointed in longevity of these shoes. I bought these last April but didnt start wearing them until September. After only 6 months of moderately light use the toe box side seam of my right shoe has completely come apart. I have had Wolverine and Merrel boots 3x longer that I have wore the soles out on before a seam has given out. I was considering the low top Hierros but now looking at other brands.

Ok
Comfortable but to wide gets uncomfortable towards the end of the day and could use more heal support.
