Why We Like The NEMO Tensor Extreme Conditions Sleeping Pad
When days are clear and cold, and the nighttime temperatures drop well below freezing, we want the NEMO Tensor Extreme Conditions Sleeping Pad between us and the ground. This pad offers incredible warmth thanks to four layers of floating Thermal Mirror metallic film, which reflects heat back toward our body for an impressive 8.5 R-Value. Clocking in at just over a pound, ultralight enthusiasts won't have to make tough decisions between comfort and weight on winter expeditions. It packs down to a compact size as well, keeping our packs light and tight, so we can feel fresh each morning on multi-day treks.

Extremely warm and comfortable
Used on snow in cold weather in the White Mountains and stayed amazingly warm and comfortable all night. Highly recommend.

I Slept Cold
I finally had a chance to use my new Extreme pad last night. Temperatures got down to 25F, I was in a tent, my sleeping bag is a Western Mountaineering Antelope rated at 5F. Mine has 2 ounce overfill so probably a 0F bag. I slept on snow. I was cold. No matter how I slept my pad side was always cold. I tossed all night to warm up my cold side, to only get cold again. I could easily feel a chill. I have at least 10 pads. I'm one of those guys. I have one other with an R-6 value that I know is warmer. I'm glad to hear others were warm. I didn't get that experience. My regular wide weighed 24.90 ounces out of the box.

Great performance in winter conditions
After a multi-day backpacking trip in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, we can attest that this pad performed as advertised. Temps dropped to single digits and lingered around 0F at night. While the condensation in our tent froze on the walls at night, we stayed warm and happy on this pad. The long-wide was almost large enough for two to cuddle under quilt or a double bag and provided significantly warmer sleeping than other pads we have used. Another interesting aspect is that the black top material feels like it gets warm on touch very quickly. I did not expect this. -Quiet -Warm -Light

Weights are now accurate
I just bought on of these in the Regular Mummy, so while i can't vouch for it's overnight comfort or long-term durability yet, I did want to say that the weights currently posted here (11/23) are more than accurate. In fact, the fully packed weight of mine actually came in a couple ounces LESS than what is posted. Straight out of the box, the pad, stuff sack, pump-sack, and tie strap all weigh 17.6 oz. Just the pad and pump-sack are right at 17.0 oz.. The pad is very well designed and very well made. I like how everything is laminated and there isn't any stitching, very clean. So far it's extremely comfortable, and has no crinkle noise or anything annoying. I do wish that Nemo would offer more sizes in the Mummy, rather than the rectangles. Also not really a fan of how they use neon green for almost everything, though the green on the bottom of these pads is less intense than in the photos. Can't wait to use it in the field.

Warm and quiet.
So far... Great sleeping mat. It kept me insulated and comfortable while temps were in the 40s. It's quiet and doesn't make a bunch of noise while I'm rolling around. So I'm pleased with the Nemo Alpine pad.

Awesome!
I used this in Bridgeport, California, where temperatures ranged from 75 degrees in the day to 19 degrees at night. All I had was this pad, the jazz sleeping bag, and a bivy, and I slept warm every night I was out.

Game Changer
This sleeping pad was AMAZING. I have a tough time sleeping (in general) but this was super comfortable, I brought it with me when I backpacked Mount Whitney. I paired it with the Disco sleeping bag and I was super warm (low of 30 degrees F). Highly recommend!

The most comfortable and quiet Tensor available
I finally got to use this pad in the BWCA where I had temps between 30 and highs of 50. It did an amazing job keeping me warm, but the real improvement is how quiet it was compared to the other Tensor we used. I will definitely be using this pad most of the year. Some of the other reviews complain about the weight being off but mine was very close (less than an ounce off) without packing the yellow blow up sack.

What a great pad this is. Love how supportive it is and the amount of warmth it gives. Ive only tested it this fall (it got down to 30 degrees) but it noticed zero heat loss and was very comfortable in my 15 degree bag. Further more im stoked to see that the pad is just as quiet as their previous model as well! Having it also come with a pump sack is a killer value as well. I'd highly recommend to anyone needing an ultra light and warm pad for anytime of year!

Perfection?
This is warmer then the normal tensor which I have 2 of and just a few Oz more weight. It packs to almost the same size. That said the advertised weight is off. But for me the trade is worth when paired with a quilt once the temp dips.

Is the tensor alpine ultralight the same pad as the longbow alpine offered at First Lite? Other than the color they appear to be the same.

I'm about 5'10. Should I go for the long version? It looks like I'll fit the regular mummy, but it may be a bit close.

I usually camp during winter without a tent. Is the material tough enough to withstand sleeping with fir branches on the ground or should I put the mat on the snow directly?

For the Alpine Tensor model, are there any plans to release a regular wide size?

Are there any plans to make mummy shaped versions of the pads in the Tensor lineup (both Alpine and/or Tensor Insulated)? Without the mummy shape, I can't nest 2 pads in my tent.

I was wondering if you will change anything on the Design or the Material? The little Store here in Germany told me that the mat is sold out for the year and that he can order agian in December.

Hi! Is Nemo expecting to make a Wide/Regular in this sleeping pad soon? I want the wide one, but it's too long for my tent!
