Nice bag!
Well thought out, and great quality, except for the snaps on the grab handle which don’t stay snapped!

Great Design
I travel to work and spend on average 96hrs there. I like that there is a compartment to put my dirty clothes although I think that compartment could be a little larger. The overall design is great and there are enough zippered pockets to separate my gear the way I like. Quality of materials and build quality appear on par with other Mystery Ranch products and I anticipate this to be a durable product.

Solid bag
40L, slate gray : Have used this pack on a few trips both in the US and internationally. There are some things I love about it but some gripes as well. Pros: - Great material, abrasion resistant and sturdy. Great stitching - Not a shell but definitely holds shape well - perfect carry on size - good open main compartment with a few mesh internal pockets - best use with packing cubes Cons: - backpack straps are not removable, would love to be able to use front storage when I don’t need that way of carry - easily stained, just the nature of the fabric, not a deal breaker for me - would appreciate a brighter color way for the interior so see contents a bit better

Birthday present getting rave reviews
I bought this bag as a present for my son. He travels quite a bit with some minor camera gear and clothes. He has told me that this bag fits all his needs for his short weekend jobs. Camera gear, small tripod, 3 days of clothes and toiletries all fit no problem. Fits in the overhead and he loves the backpack straps option. He has commented on the quality of the bag, the confidence he has in the zippers and its overall design. Strong work MR!!

Perfect Size for Skydiving Gear
I bought this to transport my skydiving gear to and from the drop zone. Big enough to hold the right and the helmet in its own bag, plus all the accessories and gear. Great quality and rugged.

Quality gear hauler made from fantastic materials
This bag is fantastic. The 1000D fabric feels very durable and high quality, as do the huge exterior zippers. I love the fact that it's got grab handles all over the place, and that I can carry it many different ways with backpack straps, single shoulder strap, etc.

Tough as nails!
I have had this bag for about two years. I am impressed with how well it has held up. I use it as my survival gear bag for work so it spends a lot of time outdoors and routinely gets tossed around. The internal organization is just right for smaller items, but does not take up any extra space when not being used. The two compartments on the inside of the lid fit freeze-dried meals perfectly! The shoulder straps are very comfortable, and the lifter straps make it easy to adjust to your liking.

The Perfect Duffel
This provides just what I needed in a duffel. I purchased the 40L and I've recently used it as a carry-on for international trip to South America. And it serves as a primary bag for shorter adventures. I love the two separate compartments - I use the larger one for shoes. The smaller one is perfect for dirty laundry or wet board shorts. The shoulder strap carry and backpack carry options are great, I use both depending on the situation. Great organization overall. Plus, the fabric is tough as nails. One time, the bag got lost by a South American airline, and when I finally got it back two days later, it looked like the airlilne did their best to beat it up. But other than some cosmetic marks, the bag is still in awesome shape. I would absolutely recommend it.

Are the grab handle straps removable? I see they are attached to the bag through buckles. Removing them when carrying the bag in backpack mode would be nice.

Hi I'm interested in buying this duffel in the 40. I've seen reviews that say the backpack straps are sewn only into the liner material and have nothing else connecting them to the bag. Has that design element changed with the newer duffels? Thanks.
