    Awesome for boiling water!

    I've used it several times

Great stove for boiling water for instant meals. Didn't use it to cook in, only to boil water for bag meals or coffee. Lights easily, uses minimal fuel, boils water quickly, and stores great. Not quite as fast of a cooker as the Reactor, but still performed at expectations.

    Quality Issues?

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Brought it to the back country and it failed. Difficulty lighting and difficulty keeping it lit. Also the metal strip across the top never glowed as it was supposed to. When I got home I lit the burner at night and saw that only half the burner head was actually lit -- the half that was not below the warning strip. Hopefully this is just a defective unit so I'm returning for replacement. Also, the cup on the bottom does not attach securely to the bottom of the unit. There are notches in the cup that seem intended to grab the lip on the bottom of the aluminum pot/cup but the protective "cozy" sleeve is too long for it to be possible to get the plastic cup pushed up high enough to grab the lip. I'm pretty sure this is a simple design flaw. So during transport the cup just rests loosely to the unit. Minor detail but I expect attention to detail at this price point. My new MSR water filter (trail base) also failed on the trip so I'm not going to lie -- my confidence in MSR right now has taken a hit. I spoke with MSR customer service and shared my experiences with both the stove and the water filter and they suggested I exchange them for new ones. So at this point I'm hoping I'm just really unlucky because otherwise MSR may have some quality control issues going on.

Can you cook chili in this? Does food stick to the inside badly?
