Great pot, awful handle
Pro: Capacity, Wright, Durability. Contra: Handle-Construction almost always breaks off. It almost drives you crazy. I would love to use the holes in the lid to pour hot water out of the pot. Unfortunately, the handle construction is too weak to allow pouring without burning your fingers. Yes, of course, I can also put the pot in the dirt and then empty the hot water through the lid. MSR team I challenge you to take an almost full pot with this handle off the cooker with just one hand. Literally unworkable. I used the pot for half a year at a time. Still going strong.

Great pot
Love this pot. I also use it at the edge of a fire with an aluminum foil lid and the handle facing away from the fire. Will this wood fire damage the anodized aluminum pot?

Really nice water boiler
I had the 2 person mess kit so bought this and a pocket rocket to build a super nice 2-person cook set. Perfect for those trips where your just boiling water & with the mess kit more featured then a reactor. Highly recommended for lightweight summer and fall trips.

Trail Lite 2L Pot
Sleek design saves space, this pot is big enough to accommodate my XGK or Dragon Fly. I'm really happy with this item.

Light and Durable
I have taken this pot on a few backcountry trips already. It's a great size to cook shared meals for two people. It's lightweight, fits my Pocket Rocket stove and fuel inside, and feels very durable -- I love that it has no coating inside to get scratched or damaged. Also, the lid is very secure and has drain holes, making it easy to drain your water if you aren't keeping it. Highly recommend for two-person backpacking!

High quality. Holds my MSR Universal camp stove. Is part of my motocamping setup. Holds two cups of hot water for my coffee with a bit left over for wash up.

The Almost Perfect Pot
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I purchased this pot to replace my old MSR stainless steel pot set-up from the early nineties in an attempt to lighten my pack for a week long backpack along the CDT through the Wind Rivers in June. The pot worked well to boil water for meals for our group of four. All of our meals required re-hydrating in boiling water with the occasional simmer and the tight-fitting lid ensured a quick boil and that little heat or steam escaped while we patiently waited for tasty meals. The inside of the pot cleaned up easily in freezing water with little scrubbing required. I love how the pot held my MSR fuel canister, my Pocket Rocket Deluxe stove, and two Snow Peak titanium bowls. The handle flips over the top to lock the lid on and keep everything contained. The only downside is that the handle can twist slightly when one tilts the pot and it popped out a few times. It's hard to wrangle the handle back into place. Otherwise, it's a great addition to my backpacking kitchen.
