Stretchdown hoody
fit is perfect, im 5'11", 165lbs and got a large. The jacket is very nice and warm. Havent had too much time to use it yet since its been warm. A little concerned about the quality of hardware on the jacket, grommets seems to have sharp edges and can scrape the skin.

Color not as pictured
The color of the jacket is absurdly different than pictured. It’s much much more gold than burnt orange. It’s nuts they even have these photos up for the product. At first I thought they sent the wrong jacket. That massive disappointment aside, I do like the jacket. I guess I wear a shiney gold coat around now. It hurts even more when see the sale prices…

Picked up as a mid layer in cold wind
I picked up as a mid layer in cold wind. Worked great in 20-40 degree weather and high winds on the Detroit River this week. Size is great .

Double zipper is a game changer!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:

I've been looking for a down jacket for a while now, and as a short, husky, middle-aged guy, I have a hard time finding outerwear that fits me correctly. Enter the MH StretchDown. I went on a search at my local REI store and tried on jackets from Patatgonia, Cotopaxi etc, and this style was on a clearance rack at the back of the store. The stretch was perfect but the length was still an issue until I realized the jacket had a double zipper! I wasn't super excited about the color (and price) at the store so I ordered a discontinued color after searching online. I really love the construction of the baffles and the fact that I can adjust where I need the zipper depending on if I'm walking around or in the car.

Upgraded?
My first Strechdown Hoodie was amazing. It lasted me 3 or 4 years, I had little to no problems. Eventually the down settled down the arms and into the cuffs, and the zipper lost a tooth. I sent it back and they warrantied it for a new one. The new one is a step down in my opinion. It doesn’t feel as insulated, the fabric doesn’t feel as durable and the zippers (mind my bluntness) suck! I get the idea of being able to zip up the bottoms to breathe, but the double zipper is horrible to use, and absolutely impossible to use with gloves on. The grommets in the pockets came loose just days into the new coat. My only wish is that these jackets were a little more fitted. Even a small looks like a tent on me and I’m 5’7” 145lbs. In short, I miss the old zipper, I miss the old materials, but I love the warranty and I love the look and feel.

Would recommend
I love this jacket, the style is great and it has everything that you would expect from a down jacket. The fleece lined pockets are great for keeping hands warm. My only negative is that the two zippers on the front of the jacket (allowing for opening the bottom of the jacket when fully zipped) can be a bit of a problem if you dont line them up perfectly when zipping on. I have had them get stuck a couple times. Still this is just a minor annoyance and honestly isnt that be of a deal.

Stains Easily
As another reviewer stated "I wore this once in light rain and now it has dark staining that doesn't go away after drying" - the same thing happened to me when I wore it skiing. I can't recommend a jacket that can't be worn outside if there is a slight mist or snowflakes in the air otherwise the jacket gets permanently stained.

Great all-around jacket
I bought this jacket looking for a good general-use down jacket for winter in the rockies. It's perfect for that. It's a bit heavier than ultralight jackets, but it is a bit more beefy and seems more sturdy. The outer seems less likely to rip than the usual nylon material, and it feels nicer to boot. The features are all there.
