    Great Hiking Pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 185lbs

Just got done doing a rugged 14mi back country hiking/camping trip. Pants were great. He had to bushwach quite a bit and the pants help up perfectly. I got wet a few times and they repelled the water really well and dried right away. pockets were great, no complaints there. They seem to be a little baggy in the legs but I would rather have that than all of these tight skinny jeans. I would definitely recommend and buy again.

    A weird pant/short.

I am not really super stoked on these pants. They really aren't a stylish enough of a pant, or a true hiking/climbing pant either. I left them home and didn't want to bring them to europe with me.

Will i wear them? I am on the fence. I will keep them, but I really don't know where I would wear them. I don't see them being a great hiking or climbing pant, nor do I see them being a pant I would want to wear out and about casually. The shorts aren't bad overall and i would most likely start there and have the ability to zip in the pant portion if mosquitos became an issue later in the evening if I went camping.

So yeah, I would call them a camping pant, because at this point I could care less what happens to them.

    Great hiking pants

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Size Bought: medium (32x32)
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 175lbs

I used these pants on my recent 12 day trip to Iceland where it ranged from 35-60 Fahrenheit . I'm 6'0 175 lbs and bought the 32x32. Size was just right, a little baggier than I would prefer my pants to be but I get that hiking pants are really about movement so it didn't bother me that much.
When you drop the top on these they look just like shorts, not like zip off shorts. The length of the shorts is also just about my knee which is about perfect.
Pants are quick dry and pretty stain resistant. These were 1 of 2 pairs of pants I wore over the 12 days alternating each day and they were relatively spotless by the end of the trip even though I had gone caving, climbing and hiked up volcanic mountains in them.
All in all, great hiking pants. Definitely a bit nerdy to have zip offs but totally worth the practicality and comfort.

    Excellent

I'm 5'10", 165lb, and I'm always a perfect size medium/32 waist. The 32x32 size was dead on. Pants are lightweight, but not "ultralight" and flimsy, which was my hope. These pants seem to lack nothing in the durability department, unlike many UL nylon hiking pants.

I haven't worn them in the bush yet, but I attempted to overwhelm the DWR treatment in the kitchen sink. I gave up after a couple minutes, and a quick shake had even the outside feeling dry to the touch. I'm sure it will wear to some degree and eventually need to be reapplied, and like any DWR it will likely get overwhelmed in a torrential driving rain (especially at the leg zippers), but comparatively, I can already tell the DWR treatment was top-notch.

A bit noisy/swishy in stride, but good luck trying to find a pair of nylon hiking pants that aren't.

All in all, highly recommended. Quality is excellent.
