Maneuver with ease.

Move around your boulder project easily with the Metolius Session II Crash Pad. This updated version comes with 2 new drag handles that make for quick and easy repositioning of the pad as you cruise through problem after problem. The 900d polyester face fabric will hold up to dragging, rock abrasion, and sticks so moving the pad doesn't have to be a dainty task. Also included in the update was a redesign of the flap closure system. Now, when the pad is open, you can reverse the flap closures to cover the shoulder straps while you're bouldering.

When you're ready to start a new problem, wipe off your climbing shoes on the carpeted logo for clean rubber that will propel you through the moves. If you slip off or overshoot a dyno, the high compression foam in the pad will disperse the impact of your fall while the low compression foam will absorb it giving you a cushioned catch. After you've sent that problem, load up your things into the pad, slip on the padded shoulder straps and waist belt, and go find a new project.

Great Pad and Great Value

I've put it through the wringer

Buying this pad is really a no- brainer. It is versatile, well-built, and the one of the cheapest out there. This was my first pad and it did the trick, I still use it often either for long and difficult approaches where my larger pads won’t do, or I use it in conjunction with my other pads to create a cushioned pit in which to fall. It really holds up well too, I used this 3-4 times a week in pretty rough terrain for over a year and it is still solid and looks good. The shoe mat is great, it spoiled me as every pad I have purchased since this one, I make sure it has a mat as I use it every time. The buckles are sturdy and the padding has kept me safe from a 20-ft fall more than once! Good product!

Crash Pad

I've used it several times

I am thoroughly impressed with this crash pad. It's very light and easy to haul around. For four inches thick it does a much better job than I thought. It's firm but not so firm it jars your joints when you hit or land. It's a great crash pad for the price no doubt about it.

I've put it through the wringer

I have loved having this in my inventory. I use it all the time and my buddies love it as well. Lightweight and easy to transport. EDIT: So good I bought it again to add to my collection! I now have two and I love them.

Good quality for a good price.

I've put it through the wringer

I admittedly was drawn to the more accessible price of this boulder pad and it has served be perfectly. I would recommend this pad for any boulder session. Backpack feature is handy and the coverage over the bottom holding the pad in backpack mode means you can stuff your water, shoes, guidebook, etc. into the pad.
