Why We Like The Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot
The skies are bright blue and there isn't a cloud in sight, but we're no fools—we know that can change. That's why we take off into the unknown wearing the Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot. Its waterproof membrane lets moisture escape so we feel fresh when the weather is dry yet seals out the rain when that nomad cloud starts dumping water in our direction.

bad choice
I should never have bought these shoes. They are too high. I wanted the shorter ones but they weren't available. probably a great product for a lot of people but I will likely have to give them away.

My second pair
This is my second pair of moab 3. I like the mid and also have the regular moab 3. Both are waterproof and excellent in rain or snow. No wet feet!

Good for rough terrain
I am a 72 year old woman who walks 10k or more 5 days a week on trails and access roads with a lot of rocks and roots. Pros comfortable around ankle and no slippage in heel. Easy to get on and lace up. Good grip on the mixed terrain in both and dry conditions. Looks good. Cons is I wear custom orthotics and there is not enough cushion in the forefoot as it causes my bunion and arthritis in toes to flair up. Also, I would say water resistant as they leaked slightly where the sole meets the fabric in the front sides. Took awhile and at least my feet weren’t soaked.

Disappointing and a Little Dangerous
I bought these a couple weeks ago for a trip to Acadia National Park. They were light and very comfortable. They worked very well in dry weather. Hiking in light rain, they failed to grip on rock faces and completely slipped out from under me twice, causing bad falls both times. Nothing broken, just bruised, but it was scary not to be able to trust my footing.

Great way to get into hiking!
Very satisfied for a new hiker! These were very comforting even the first time I wore them. No complaints, would buy again!

Would forsure repurchase
Was already a fan of merrell and decided to upgrade my hiking shoes to these. They are amazing, great quality, seem like they’ll last forever. I went for a small hike to break them in and they were beyond comfortable, no tightness, no rubbing, true to size and great ankle support.

Good Hiking Boots
No problems at all with my boots. Merrill knows what they're doing.

Pretty comfy
Wore them for the first time hiking a segment of the IAT in WI. They were pretty good. I did almost 6 miles but my little toe on one foot was sore and the other foot was a bit sore. Could be just breaking in time is needed. Wore my other pair of Merrells in Spain doing 62 miles of the Camino, and after 3 years of hiking and that trip they were done. Which is why I bought some new ones. I could tell the difference right away, my new Merrells were quite cushioned and comfortable. I will wait and see if they do better. I'm hoping so as I plan to take them back to Spain next year to do more walking on the Camino de Santiago.

Liked them so well that I bought another pair
Great traction and fit. I’ve hiked miles in these shoes over loose gravel, rocks, silt, mud and creeks. The shoes are stable and grip well. Stayed dry through creek crossings (not submerged). Mid height works for me. I liked my first pair so much, I bought another pair.
