Superalloy Tent: 2-Person 3-Season

The Superalloy fits into Marmot’s line as a versatile backpacking tent that doesn’t compromise when it comes to weight and functionality. Two generously sized vestibules fit bulky gear without obstructing entry to the tent.

  • Freestanding backpacking comfortably houses two trekkers and their gear
  • Two large vestibules can easily be rolled back for custom airflow options
  • Rainfly retains tension during heavy rainfall to avoid sagging and stretching
  • At under three pounds with a small packed size, the Superalloy is truly minimal
  • Seam-taped rain fly and floor provide long-lasting durability for reliable use

Better and bigger than my big agnes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I have so many tents. I have a few ultralight ones. This one is my favorite so far. The material seems to be just a bit better than big Agnes ultralight tents. I have way more room than my flycreek 2 and double vestibule. Probably only need one, but it is a 2 person tent. Love the colors and the weight. I didn’t think marmot could pull it off, but I’m in love.

Nice and light for light backpacking

Nice and light. Pole broke in medium to heavy wind and punctured the fly. Marmot warranty covered it and gave me a credit, which made me very happy. Would use again but in favorable conditions.

Marmot Does Not Support Their Products

I have purchased the Superalloy 2P 2 years ago. I love the tent. Unfortunately, I had a branch fall on the rain fly and it ripped. No problem with the quality, just bad luck. I have been trying to get a replacement fly to purchase. Here is the response: "Thank you for being our loyal customer. I am sorry to inform you that this time, we do not carry spare parts for our products nor do we provide the in-house repairs, therefore, we will not be able to fulfill request." I thought they had a lifetime warranty. Plus, unable to support their product line? DO NOT PURCHASE Marmot products. Support those that actually support their products and you can get repaired and purchase replacements when things break. Would you buy a car that the dealership cannot repair? I will no longer be a customer and will tell all that I can to support the smaller, focused companies that appreciate their customers and their customers' hard-earned money. John

Ultra Light Backpacking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For our BSA (formerly Boy Scouts) backpacking trip to Philmont, New Mexico, I purchased this ultra light 2 person tent. Since our trip was over 30 miles of rugged and high adventure and with extreme weather, I did not expect this tent to last for the two of us. It almost rain everyday and this tent kept us dry, mainly due to the rain fly. Occasionally, the wind picked up but this tent did not collapse. I own other 4 season 2 person tents but they are 3 to 5 times heavier. This is because the fabric is similar to parachute material. I thought this was the best ultra light yet rugged tent for most weather conditions.

Great little tent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this for two years now, and it's served me well on many expeditions. It is incredible how small this tent packs up. If you're looking for a quality ultralight tent, then this bad boy is for you!

Super light and cozy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tent is great. It's really light and packs down nice and small. The only thing I don't like about it is that the setup is a bit counterintuitive. I'm sure that I'll be fine with it once I get used to it though!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Smaller then a lot of 2 person tents but super light weight. My boyfriend of 6'3 and 220 lbs can't fit in it with me. But I love it? Such easy set up. Life weight.

Great tent - No replacement accessories

This tent, I believe, is one of the best ultra-light weight units out on the market. For a person over 6'2" and 240lbs, I have plenty of room for myself and can sit up without touching my head on the interior. With two people it is tight, but doable. With two doors, and two vestibules, there is plenty of outside storage, and ease of exit. Now for the reasoning behind the 3-star - no replacement parts. I had the fly rip due to a fallen branch. I tried multiple times to purchase a new fly as I do not believe it is a warranty repair. They could not sell me a new fly, but had to go through the warranty replacement procedure (which I still don't want to call it a warranty as it was not the fault of the manufacturer that it ripped). After 3 months, still no contact as to the warranty approval or rejection. Living in the Pacific Northwest and backpacking 50-60 days of the year, not having a waterproof fly will not work. So buy this tent if you think you are never going to damage it. I would hate to try and get a new pole for it!! From what I can tell, there is no support for their tent products.
