Doesn't Stand Up to the Mountains

My last bib was Arcteryx and they still somewhat worked after 15 years of epic mountain adventures. I replaced them with the much cheaper Spire bib and they're trashed after one season. Spires just don't stand up to ski mountaineering. On the plus side they fit well with room for layers and articulate nicely. They seal out the champagne Sierra powder on deep day tours. They're pretty light. The suspenders work well. The pockets are a standout feature, I love them. I like the full side zips, though they don't work well for venting as the snap comes undone and they flap around. Lesson learned -- I just splurged on some Arcteryx pants. They're expensive but they stand up to the mountains.
