For backcountry touring adventures and mountaineering missions, we trust the Marmot ROM Pant to get the job done. These durable, technical pants have more than enough stretch to allow us to move easily on the way up, and then stay dry with loads of breathability on the way down thanks to GORE-TEX Infinium. We love that the adjustable suspenders and waistbelt are built to fit comfortably with a harness, while durable scuff guards and articulated knees level up this pant to make it our go-to for up-mountain adventures.

Versatile and Weather-Resistant
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Men's ROM GORE-TEX® Infinium™ Pant (2024) is an excellent choice for those who need a highly breathable, windproof, and weather-resistant softshell pant for active pursuits in cold conditions. I plan to use these primarily for ice climbing in winter, and they seem perfectly suited for the job. The GORE-TEX® Infinium™ fabric provides great protection against wind and light precipitation while maintaining superb breathability—essential for high-output activities in harsh environments. I appreciate the articulated fit, which allows for a full range of motion without restriction, and the adjustable waistband, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit. The reinforced lower legs add durability for use with crampons, while the zipped thigh pockets are well-placed for easy access, even when wearing a harness. Overall, these pants offer an excellent balance of mobility, protection, and comfort, making them a great choice for winter climbing and other demanding alpine adventures.

Good niche solution for cold hiking
Am 6'2", normal waist size 35; ordered 36" waist & it fits well. Have used it 2 times on mountain hikes in 20-25 degree temps & 1200' vertical climb. Light winds. Wearing with no base layer under, this fabric was totally comfortable for this and seemed to breathe well enough. Liked the suspenders, but as I need a belt for carrying accessories, it lacks that. As it was a discounted sale item, I feel it was a very good value vs other options. Would buy again at the price for sure, but at full price would opt for alternatives.

Very nice but sizing is exact
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice and durable but the fit is tight. I can wear 36 for 90% of pants but should have gone with 38.
