PreCip Eco Shell Mitten

Backcountry skiers made Marmot's Precip Shell Mitten a best-seller due to its reliable waterproofing that slides right over Marmot's Power Stretch Glove whenever the skin track gets snowy or it's time take those turns they've earned. Very nice mitt. Lose the lining.

Got exactly what I paid for. So I’m happy. What I would like to see is the same mitt but with very little lining if any. Almost always wear with wool liners. Thumbs are a tight fit.

Great shell runs small

The shells are great. They just run small. I use a base wool military gloves liner with the Marmots over the top. So so warm.

They work

I use these for running/walking with light gloves under and they are incredible at keeping hands warm. Fingers get cold easy, and I’ve been walking 20 minutes at -5 or -10 below with comfort!

Nah

Poorly constructed. Lining stitches came undone after second use. Don’t buy these gloves.

Good product that runs small?

The mittens seem well made and contain a small amount of insulation (or a liner that provides a little warmth). The drawback is that the sizing for a shell seems small - I bought the XL and I can only wear a light/thin glove underneath, limiting their cold weather usefulness.

Nice shells, good price, but sizes are very small

The shell mitts are ok, but i am not very big, ~ 5'8" & 185, with fairly short but somewhat wide (~7.5") hands, & I can get only a thin mitten inside these thinly-lined shells. I prefer shells with no sewn-in liner, so i can use my own fleece mittens or gloves. I bike ride year-round in Montana, where it gets below 0°F in the winter, & also xc ski and walk & hike. When it's cold, I nest 2 or 3 layers of fleece mittens inside shells. I like to remove the fleece mittens to dry them out at home or in a cabin. This is the consensus of the winter bikers & backcountry skiers I know. A sewn-in liner is much harder to dry quickly. Even the XL shells are too small to receive more than a thin fleece mitten as a liner.

Precip shell mitts

Sold as a shell. Too small to put a warm mitten inside.

Overmitt sizeup

Size up if you are using as an overmitt. If you just want a waterproof mitten with a lining; Order your size.

Just enough

These are just what I wanted for skiing. They are very thin, almost just a shell. Skiing is hard work and I always sweat up my gloves. These will be perfect. Easy on off, big cuff to keep the snow out.
