Why We Like The Marmot PreCip Eco Pro Jacket
Regardless of the sunny forecast, we know how quickly things can change so we pack along the Marmot PreCip Eco Pro Jacket to stay dry when conditions shift. The light, breezy build keeps internal condensation low, while the sky's steady stream glances off the 20K membrane. The jacket is feather-light and easily packable while unwavering on performance so we can withstand sudden downpours from passing storm, and the zippered underarm vents and breathable material help keep us cool as we work up a sweat.

Will NOT pack into own pocket; Hood is too small
Description says packable (which is why I got it) but it won't pack into its pocket (and the pocket's zipper isn't reversible for that purpose). Hood is way too small; doesn't form a "bill" over your forehead, so rain gets into your eyes, especially if you have a pony tail in your hair. Hood seems adjustable, but can only make it smaller; no way to make it bigger (need it more "floppy" so it can cover my eyes when I'm out walking or hiking in rain and cannot use an umbrella). Seems waterproof, although no typical “beading up” of rain. Good weight for casual wear, but not technical (won't bring this on a 5-day hiking trip due to lack of packability and lack of a functional hood).

Upgrade!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fantastic jacket. I upgraded to this after wearing the original PreCip Eco (vs Pro) in Patagonia for 3 weeks a couple of years ago and staying dry. The Pro is awesome and I’m excited to test it out on the O trek in a few weeks — feels sturdier than the non Pro and is very breathable

Comfort, function, value
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This coat has a great cut; it is comfortable and does not make noise. Stayed dry and cozy in the rain and wind and looked great. After a lot of research, we purchased both the men's and women's version of this coat for the main function of keeping us dry, the pit zips for ventilation while hiking, and the adjustable hood for city walking in the rain (mostly this!). So far it is a top performer in all the categories we were searching for!

My favorite jacket
This is my second jacket. The first jacket the lining started to shed after 5 years. I like the fit, I use’s it for workout and running errands. There are some improvements in this one. Hopefully it last longer.

Not waterproof
I bought this jacket for hiking, and I like all the features, especially the underarm zips, but it is not waterproof, which is a big disappointment. I can’t take the dog for a 20 minute walk without getting wet underneath.

Got soaked after 20 minutes outside
I am really disappointed in this jacket. This is only the second time I've worn it and I'm regretting buying it. I was walking outside for 20 minutes and the lower arms and shoulders are soaked through.

Returned
I actually ended up returning this jacket. It was too boxy and not flattering.

Best Rain Jacket Ever
I ordered this jacket to replace my old Marmot jacket that had finally worn out after more than 10 years. Although the old version was awesome, this new version is even better and more improved! I love the better lining and better pockets. I'm sure this new jacket will serve me fabulously for many years to come.

OH! Now I get the hood! I was wearing the jacket around the house, after a bit if fuss surprisingly pulled the cord the right amount (instructions would help, btw) or a video..But in wearing I discovered I LOVE it because I can turn my head and SEE OUT!

Hi. Do you have any photos of the Pre-Cip Eco Pro with the hood up, without a helmet. I have no idea how the bill is supposed to work.. I just bought two of these online and the weird hood was a complete surprise. (my 4th precip).

Do the sizes in this jacket fit/run the same as the women precip eco rainjacket? Meaning, should I order the same size of this jacket that I wear in the precip eco?

Is this jacket the same "weight" as the original Precip Eco? As in it's lightweight enough for summer hikes and backpacking? Or is it more insulated than the Precip Eco?

I’m going on a pilgrimage to France, Spain and Portugal in a couple of weeks. There will be outdoor activities (mainly walking) and bus trip from point to point. Will you recommend this jacket for my planned trip? Thank you.

Is this Precip Eco Pro jacket 100% PFC-free?

What kind of lining does this have. Your description specs and images don't say or show. Is it a polyester like the PreCips from 10 years ago? Love the lining of the old PreCips.
