Great Quality Rain Jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a great high quality jacket. It is a great upgrade from the PreCip Eco that I already own. Fits really well.

Great for hunting & everyday life

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initial quality seems quite good. I am 5' 9" 180 lbs with avg build and bought size large to wear over my 850 fill down jacket and fit is perfect for that, no binding. Also not too big to wear everyday without the puffy. Fabric is pretty quiet for a rain jacket, no annoying swooshing when hiking, even when paired with marmot scree pants (nylon). Only worn it once in rain, kept me dry. Seems like it's going to br great for both hunting trips and everyday life. Marmot products have never let me down.

Okay but with a little modification could have bee

I think the pockets are too high up on the jacket and disappointed that hood does not have a cinch cord

Trying to stay dry

Great rain jacket

Not as stiff as other 3 layer jackets. Tighter fit than expected. Sleeves longer than expected.

Stylist, Light Rain Jacket

The jacket, is stylish, well designed, durable, light, and has zippered pockets. The clots are striking. It is also waterproof and can be worn year round.

Just right

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for a trip abroad last month. It packed well, looked good (black is always good), and kept me dry during 2 mornings of heavy rain--one of the mornings was to be a walking tour of Paris neighborhoods. Jacket also is breathable unlike other rain jackets I have owned, and the pit zips work when you're a little warmer than you want to be. Well done Marmot!

Solid Jacket

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
XL
Height:
6' 5"
Weight:
200

I purchased the Precip Eco Pro XL thinking that I would want the extra length (I'm 6'5", 200 lbs). Standing with arms extended, the cuffs came almost to the end of my palms. I would say I'm pretty proportional in arm length - so the arm length was plenty enough. That being said, I would have liked if the waist length was a little longer. When I raise my arms straight above my head, the bottom hem of the jacket raised just above my belt line. General first impressions: the inner jacket does not have the thin rubbery lining like many rain jackets out there. (I'm buying this jacket because my last 2.5 layer jacket lining started peeling, so this made me happy) The outer shell of the jacket has a kind of soft shell feel, not at all plastic or rubbery. The fabric is the thickness of any decent rain jacket out there - thick enough to feel durable yet thin enough that it isnt packing too much weight. I wouldn't hesitate to bring this climbing or work outside in it, it feels very durable. I would expect that it would not tear easily. The seams are all taped as expected. There are just 2 pockets on the jacket. The bottom of the pocket openings are at the bottom rib when worn, so the pockets are a bit high for resting your hands in the pockets. If you want to hang out with your hands in your pockets all the time, this is probably not the jacket for you. Speaking of pockets, they are huge. They basically extend across the entire chest from nipples down to the waist. I tried running water over the fabric in the kitchen sink. The water beaded up on it and after a couple of mintues under the sink, there was no watter getting through. That being said, I haven't used it much so I can't speak to the longevity of the waterproofing. Bottom line - As a tall man, it's hard for me to find apparel that fits well. I wish there was a tall/large size that would give me a better waist length and chest fit, though I really feel this is a great jacket, so long as the pockets don't bother you. .

Great product | 1st time Marmot customer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am 5'9" 175 lbs w/ an athletic build and the medium fits great. I like the zippers under the armpits for breathability and the bungee feature in the hood to tighten up during downpours. I wore this in a week of rainy hikes and city adventures in Canada, kept me bone dry.
