The Marmot PreCip Eco Jacket is one of our favorite reliable rain shells for keeping covered from wet weather when we're backpacking and hiking. Marmot made this jacket with waterproofing and environmentally friendly fabric. Its NanoPro membrane provides waterproof, breathable protection, and fully sealed seams prevent a single raindrop from seeping through. Zippers under each arm amplify airflow and ventilation. Not only does the hood pack into the jacket's collar, the jacket can also pack in its pocket for compactness in backpacks as well as convertible coverage.

Color switch?
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Ordered one color, got a totally different color. Not even a nice one. Now the color we ordered is out of stock.

Kept me dry for 5 Summers
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer

- XL

I used this sparingly for 5 summers. I only put it on when it was actually raining. Two of those times were 8-hour+ long days rafting. The inside waterproof lining started giving out last summer and this summer it finally started flaking and coming off around the shoulders. I was standing in the river fishing and my shoulders started letting water through and I eventually ended up soaked. I think I got my money's worth and it kept me dry until it didn't.

NOT Waterproof

As attractive and well-designed as this jacket is - it is NOT waterproof. I wore it twice in a drizzle and once in a light rain and within 10 minutes the inside was moist as were my clothes. This is a wind breaker at best. Super bummed.

great fit

i am 5 10 and 215 and bought xl and it fits great, not too tight or too loose. wear size 38 in pants. Very happy with purchase, worried it would be too big, i own several colombia jackets that have no liner and this one does plus air vents under the arms. can not wait to try it in the rain. I am retired so mainly will be used for 2 mile daily walks.

Well designed rain jacket
Nice design how the hood has a separate seam line from the zipper. Runs a tad large. Also great on windy days here in Chicago.

Great Jacket

I purchased this jacket before going on a four month national park tour this summer and it worked great. I used it in the snow in the Tetons and the rain in the Olympic peninsula. It always kept me dry and was also a great windbreaker. I also just wore it for over 20 minutes in the downpour of Hurricane ETA off the Florida coast. When I got back to my car and took it off my shirt was still totally dry. Awesome jacket
